“Aurora, you’re not a one-time thing. You’re a forever thing. I love you. I’d take you in a second if you’ll let me. I don’t want to rush you after everything that’s gone down this week though. You can take your time. I’ll be here. I’m always here. You know that.”

“I do know that. But how did I miss it for so long? This… the everything else?”

I shrug. “Sometimes you’ve got to find things out in your own time.”

“Did you always know?”

“No. Not always. There were times I hoped.”

“And now?”

“I love you. I want there to be an us if you do.”

“I do.” Tears start to fall down her cheeks, and she pulls close to me, wrapping her arms around me and burying her face in my chest. I pull her close and hug her tight, kissing the top of her head.

“What about Gin?” She raises her head to look at me. “What if she hates the idea of us? I couldn’t bear the idea of her hating me.”

I laugh so hard that she pulls away from me, frowning at my behavior.

“Gin loves you. She’s begged me for years to find a way to get you to move in with us permanently. She’s told me on more than one occasion that I should just propose to you. I promise Gin isn’t going to hate you.”

“Good. I love you both so much.”

“We can tell her later. Figure out the best way, once we figure out everything else.”

But right now, I have Aurora. Finally.
