“That’s why I pay you the big bucks.”

He chuckled. “Yeah, yeah. Head home, and I’ll touch base with you tomorrow morning.”

“Sounds good.”

Ending the call, I tossed my phone on the seat and rubbed my hands down my face.

“You okay?” Harmony asked.

The answer wasn’t so simple. I didn’t regret beating Corey’s ass, but I worried Tommy was right. The fight would be a massive story because of who had been involved. Corey was dating one of the biggest names in the industry, Claudia Ferdinand, who also happened to be my ex-girlfriend. The internet had gone wild when Claudia and I broke up, and when she started dating Corey two weeks later, there was plenty of speculation about what had happened between us. Most assumed she’d left me for him, which wasn’t true. Corey and I filming a movie together during the breakup added to the intrigue, and I’d seen the headlines wondering if our weird love triangle, as the tabloids called it, had caused problems on set.

The truth was my problems with Corey stemmed from something much more serious than woman drama. He was an asshole, and I’d never forgiven him for things he’d done when we were two struggling actors trying to make a name for ourselves. It was a story no one knew, and I planned on keeping it that way.

Regardless of my feelings about Corey, I wasn’t going to allow him to fuck up shit for me with work. The role I’d taken opposite of him had the ability launch my career to another level. Depending on the success of the first movie, there was a possibility of turning the project into a four-film franchise, which meant I’d need to be able to work with him in the future.

“Yeah, I’m fine, but I’ll be even better once I get you naked.” I gripped the back of her head and crashed my lips to hers.

As her tongue tangled with mine, I felt her hands slip down to the button of my pants. “I think there’s something I can do now to make you feel better,” she murmured against my lips before scooting back and kneeling in the small space between us and the front seat.

I leaned against the headrest as she pulled my dick out and stroked it a few times. My eyes closed when she leaned forward and ran her tongue around the tip. I gathered her hair at the nape and held on as my entire length was engulfed by her mouth.

And damn, I’d been right. Harmony was an expert at sucking cock.

Chapter 3

Kayla

More than halfway through my twelve-hour shift which had started at midnight, I sat in the corner of the hospital cafeteria eating a salad while checking my favorite gossip website on my phone. My fingers stopped scrolling when one headline caught my attention.

TROUBLE AT ECLIPSE! ACTOR BLAINE ROBERTS GETS IN FIGHT WITH CO-STAR COREY GRABER.

Blaine Roberts—Hollywood bad boy—had starred in not only a string of successful movies over the past seven years, but in my dreams as well. He became my celebrity crush when I watched him in Gods of Wind, when I was only sixteen. He’d played Samael, the prince of demons, and I’d had an unhealthy obsession with movie villains ever since.

To be honest, I wasn’t surprised by the headline. Besides his acting, he was known for three things: the constant stream of women on his arm, his partying ways, and the numerous scuffles he’d been involved in over the years. Still, none of those things kept my Blaine fantasies at bay. Before Mark, of course.

The alarm on my phone went off, indicating the end of my lunch break. I gathered my trash to throw away and left the cafeteria to head back to the labor and delivery unit. When I rounded the corner, I nearly ran over Felicity Stevens, the Human Resources manager of Hudson Memorial Hospital.

“I’m so sorry,” I said as I skidded to a halt.

“Ms. Ashford. You’re just the person I was looking for.”

My head jerked back. “You were looking for me?”

She nodded once. “Yes. Let’s go chat in my office.”

I followed Felicity down the corridor of the business offices—my lunch threatened to reemerge because it was never a good thing when HR wanted to chat—and stopped when we reached hers. She pushed the door open and gestured for me to enter.

“Please have a seat,” she said as she walked around to the other side of her desk and sat.

My palms began to sweat, and I wiped them discretely on my scrub-covered legs as I waited for her to continue. I couldn’t imagine why Felicity would be looking for me. Especially on a Sunday morning when most of the non-medical staff had the day off.

“It’s come to my attention that you are involved with Dr. Hudson. Is that true?”

Since I’d read the employees’ code of conduct multiple times and there wasn’t a no-dating clause, I figured there was no harm in telling her the truth.

“Yes, I am.”

“Is it also true that you asked him for favors?”
