“You did that for me?” She questions.

It kills me that she doesn’t think I cared about her enough. That it was such a foreign concept.

“I would do anything for you, Tilly Harper. You name it. It’s yours.” My hands slide around to the back of her jeans, and I position my hands in her back pockets.

I wasn’t lying when I said these jeans made her ass look good. Her arms link around my neck and I brush my nose against hers. I keep our noses touching, but I don’t make a move.

I was giving that choice to her. Letting her take the lead on where she wants this to go. The kitchen is quiet. So quiet I can almost hear the pounding of her heart. She inches closer. Her body slowly melting into mine.

“Are you going to kiss me or what, pretty boy?” She murmurs.

I smile, then my hand snakes up her spine to grip her neck. “If that’s what you want.”

“Yes,” she breathes out.

My lips hit hers. She moans, and I slide my hand up farther, tangling it in her hair so I can angle her face where I want her. My tongue plunges, licking and tasting her like it was my lifeline. The palm that was still snug in her pocket, squeezes which earns me another moan as she pulls closer. I slow the kiss, pulling away slightly to see her face. I would give anything to take this further, but at the moment we are in Easton’s kitchen, and I doubt he wants her bare ass on his countertop. Add in the fact she was assaulted just yesterday. I needed to tread carefully. Be sure she knew what she was doing.

“What’s wrong?” She frowns.

“Nothing’s wrong, baby. Let’s just slow down.” I kiss her again, but she steps away.

“Don’t do that to me,” she scoffs.

“Do what?”

“Coddle me.” She crosses her arms.

“I’m not coddling you.” I stand.

“Really? So, you’re telling me if you had your tongue down one of your usual’s throats, you’d tell them to ‘slow down’.” She cocks a hip out.

“I’m not sure why you want to bring up me and other women. What I did with other women is different.”

It was. It’s completely different.

“Different,” she repeats, then shakes her head.

She taps her foot a few times which is her tell she’s about to release her fury.

Then she lets loose. “I don’t want to be treated like a glass doll, or something you have to tiptoe around.” She steps to me, pointing a finger at my chest. “I will not be seen as the deaf girl, and I refuse to be seen as the girl who got beat up by her fiancé.” Her nostrils flair. “Especially by you. So, I want you to do whatever you would do to someone you wanted to take home, Greyson.”

I grip her hand in mine. “You don’t want what I had with them.”

“And why not?” She tilts her head, her eyes flaring.

“You don’t want a meaningless hookup. Because that’s exactly what it was. I never even got a name half of the time and the other half I couldn’t even stand to look at them. I never looked at their faces because the only face I wanted to see was yours.”

Her eyes widen and she tries to step back, but I pull her closer.

“You want more and so do I. So, when I finally make you mine, and believe me, it’s going to happen. It won’t even be close to what I had with them.”

She swallows thickly, her eyes bouncing between my mine.

“Okay,” she says quietly.

“Okay,” I repeat.

I take her hand, winding our fingers together. “Let’s get out of here.”
