“Do it!” Grayson barks.
Simon nods. “Consider it done, sirs.”
Dylan turns us towards the doors, but Grayson is there, cutting us off. “Don’t you dare just leave like that.”
I flinch, thinking he’s talking to me, but he’s talking to Dylan. He pulls me out of the omega’s arms easily and shoves me away. Dylan and I both attack at the same time. I grab his wrist, breaking his hold on my hand just as Dylan shoves the alpha back. We bounce back together again, and I clutch at his hand this time.
“I can’t get fired,” I whisper.
“You won’t,” Dylan says loudly. He lifts his chin and stares at Grayson.
Silas steps between Grayson and Falcon and looks at me. “Please, Miss Davies, if you could, I’d appreciate it if you could be Dylan’s employee. He’s the most important guest in this hotel. Anything he wants, give it to him. Treat him as you would us.”
I snort a laugh and cover my mouth when all three alphas look at me. “Sorry, it was a little bit funny.” I lean into Dylan and pat his arm. “Don’t worry, I’ll be much nicer to you.”
I jerk in fear when three savage growls erupt into the room. They control themselves quickly, but the sound lingers in my mind. My heart pounds, and I find myself standing behind Dylan, who guides me backwards out of the room.
“Go away, Dylan. We have work to do,” Falcon says and dismisses us.
Dylan retreats slowly, pulling me with him.
“You know them?” I ask hesitantly.
He hesitates. “Sort of.”
I snap my jaw shut as he leads me into the silver lift. There are six lifts in the foyer, but the two on the end are gold and silver. I haven’t been on either of them before. The inside is polished silver with delicate art déco type designs laid into the frames of everything.
It’s beautiful.
The door opens, revealing a suite that is far bigger than the other rooms I’ve seen. The furniture looks new and extremely modern and expensive. There is no sign of personality anywhere in this room. It’s expensive and boring.
I let out a whistle and then whirl back to my new friend.
Who is this man? And why is he looking at me like that?
I walk to the window and admire the view before I turn back again. He’s moved closer. Silently.
“I’m getting the sense that things are complicated here. Those alphas know you, and they’re very angry at me.”
Dylan snarls.
I freeze and tilt my head to the side. “So, they are. I’m guessing they don't like that we’re friends.” My head nods with a jerk. “I can understand that. Just makes them small-minded idiots.”
His expression turns blank, and he shakes his head. That’s a damn lie.
The elevator opens, and Grayson walks into the room and leans on the glass beside me. He doesn’t notice the thick tension Dylan and I have as we watch him. I remember my mother talking once to her friend while I wasn’t meant to be listening. Her friend said that the alpha they were watching was sex on a stick. Now, I had no idea what that meant, but right now, watching this alpha leaning on this wall…I think I completely understand. He is brain-melting level hotness, and that half lidded, sleepy look is straight out of all my frustrated R-rated fantasies.
He studies the omega and then turns to me. Focuses all that hot, sexy alphaness on me. My knees get weak, and I stumble back a step. Sweet lemon blooms in the air around us, and for some reason, that makes it even harder to think. Knowing the omega is as affected by this alpha as I am is the sweetest torture.
“I believe we got off on the wrong foot.” His voice is seduction itself. His clothes are tailored to show off every asset he has, and even the tiny scar on his chin just emphasises his perfection. Blue-green eyes narrow, and soot covered lashes lower to hide his amused gaze.
He is an assault on my senses. I feel drunk.
“Did we?” I say when I remember what he said.
“My name is Grayson Waters. Alpha in Pack Treyfield.”
“Okay?” I glance at Dylan for instruction, but he appears frozen, his eyes all but drinking in the alpha in front of me. Okay, um, wow. I should probably leave.
