Vance nods grimly. "I'm positive. We've had eyes on him for a while now, and we've intercepted some of the messages he's been sending. But, Boss, there's more."

My hair stands on end. What more could there possibly fucking be?

Tossing a file onto my desk, Vance folds his arms over his chest and says, "Sullivan is an agent."

The file contains all the proof that Vance has gathered against Lucas. As I pore through it, a sense of disbelief washes over me. Every piece of information leads back to Lucas. He was planted here years ago to gather information and feed it back to the cops. We don't have a leak.

We have a mole.

I slam the file shut, hardly able to contain the rage that's been building inside of me. Lucas Sullivan. The very name makes my blood boil.

My blood boils with anger and disgust, and I slam my fist against the desk, my knuckles turning white. "When did you find out about this?" I spit out.

Vance sighs, his eyes solemn. "It's been going on for a while now, but we were finally able to confirm it last night."

Last night, when we were together with Mia.

I rise from my chair, pacing back and forth in front of Vance. "Who else knows about this?" I ask, trying to keep a lid on my explosive anger.

"No one," Vance says quickly, his eyes never leaving mine.

I can feel my temper rising, an anger burning deep within me that I can't suppress. To think that one of my own trusted men has been playing us for fools, feeding information to our enemies. Lucas Sullivan has betrayed us all, and as I sit there looking through the damning evidence Vance has provided, my mind races with thoughts of retribution.

"Good," I say with a nod. "Keep it that way. We don't want anyone else finding out before we've dealt with it."

My mind goes into overdrive as I try to process everything that's happening. Lucas is an agent working for the cops who has been lying to me, Xavier, and the family for years.

And Mia. What about Mia?

"That fucking bastard!" I shout, slamming my fist into the wall.

"Antonio," Vance begins, concern etched on his face, "you need to think this through. If we handle this the wrong way, it could blow up in our faces."

"I said I'll handle it!" I snap, the anger still simmering below the surface. "You're dismissed. Don't mention this to anyone."

He nods. "Yes sir."

As I'm left alone in my office, I can feel the weight of what has just happened settle heavily on my shoulders. That son of a bitch is going to pay for everything he's done. He'll never touch Mia again. I'll make fucking sure of it.

Isink into the comfortable couch in the living room, a smile lighting up my face as Lucas joins me. We've been engrossed in the same book, reading it together whenever we have the time.

Lucas chuckles, pointing to a particularly funny passage. "Can you believe her, though? They're always getting into ridiculous situations."

I laugh, shaking my head. "I know, right? It's like they have a talent for attracting chaos."

He presses a sweet kiss to my nose and teases, "Sounds like someone I know."

I gasp in mock appall. "I do not!"

"Oh?" he says, smirking. "Accidentally falling into the laps of a mafia family isn't an absolutely ridiculous twist of fate."

"No," I shoot back matter-of-factly, "girls do that all the time, actually."

"Do they, now," he laughs, not needing to call me on the bluff.
