Antonio and Xavier share a look before nodding their agreement. "All right. We'll do it. For you, darling."

My heart jumps in my chest as they all step closer to me, but I back up. "You have to promise me that you won't try to kill, arrest, or harm each other anymore.”

The three of them sigh before nodding in resignation. I feel a spark of hope ignite within me at his words. Maybe, just maybe, we can make this work.

LUCAS

The weight of Mia's love and her refusal to choose between us resonates deeply within Xavier, Antonio, and me. As we sit in the living room, the atmosphere heavy with emotions, introspection washes over us like a tidal wave.

"I've spent too long letting my insecurities get the best of me," Xavier admits, his gaze fixed upon Mia. "But in this moment, I realize that what we have is worth fighting for. I want a relationship built on trust, understanding, and shared love."

"That's what I want, too," she confesses, "what I need."

He nods. "If that's the case... then I'm willing to forgive you," he says, turning to me. "For Mia. If she wants all of us, I'm not going to be the one that stands in her way."

Antonio speaks next, his voice laced with sincerity. "I hate you, I can't deny that." He looks toward Mia and his gaze immediately softens, showing just how much he loves her. "But... in time... I might be able to forgive him, too."

"Really?" she asks, grabbing his hands.

He rolls his eyes. "Sweetheart, you know I can't resist you. I'd do whatever you asked me. I'd kill him in cold blood if that's what you wanted."

She gives him a look of warning.

"I won't, I won't," he assures. "Not until you ask me to."

The air is thick with tension as I try to come up with something to say. I want to add my own thoughts, but it's hard to know where to begin. But then Mia turns to me, her eyes locking onto mine, and I can't help the shiver that courses through my body.

"What about you, Lucas?" she asks, her voice a soothing balm. "Do you want this?"

I smile down at her, caressing her cheek. "You know I do, baby. If they hadn't found out about me, I never would have left. I would have stayed and loved you for every single second."

And it's true. I would have, without a doubt.

"We'll have to figure out the logistics," Xavier says, a hint of uncertainty in his tone.

"We will," I reply firmly.

"It's not always easy," Mia says softly, her hand reaching out to brush over mine. "But it's worth it. My love for you..." she looks between the three of us, "it'll always be with it."

The tension in the room dissipates and we all take a deep breath. It seems that for now, we have come to a tentative understanding. Mia offers a small smile, the gratitude on her face palpable.

"Thank you," she whispers. It's as if a weight has been lifted, the openness and honesty laying the groundwork for what may be a challenging, yet rewarding, journey ahead.

As the night wears on, we get cleaned up, get some food and water into Mia's system, and spend time taking care of every little bump and bruise we find. Later that evening, as we prepare for bed, Antonio and I stand side by side in front of the bathroom mirror, our eyes meeting in silent communication.

"I know you hate me," I say finally, breaking the silence.

Antonio's eyes soften. "I do."

"But I love her," I tell him. "And... I did grow to care about you and the family. As fucked up as you all are... you have a certain charm about you.

He chuckles and shakes his head. "Thanks?"

I nod "I know it's not going to be easy," I say. "But I'm willing to try if you are."

There is a moment of hesitation before Antonio nods slowly. And that's that. We walk into the bedroom and find Xavier sitting behind Mia, brushing the tangles out of her wet hair after her shower. She smiles up at the two of us with such purity that it knocks the wind out of me.
