The goddess smiled. "Before I pronounce you bonded for life, would you like to recite your vows to each other?"
"Yes, we would, Clan Mother." Robert dipped his head to the goddess and then turned to his bride.

Sharon's heart started beating faster.
The Clan Mother's speech had been beautiful and moving, and Sharon had teared up a little, but with all due respect to the goddess and the head of the clan, Sharon valued more what Robert was about to say.
He wasn't a man of many words, but he felt deeply and loved wholeheartedly, and she prayed that he had managed to put it all into his vows, not because she needed to hear it, but because he needed to say it and he needed the clan to hear it.
They were both outsiders who had found a home in this amazing community, but even after all this time, they were still struggling to feel like they truly belonged, and this ceremony was a huge step in that direction.
Robert looked into her eyes with so much love and adoration that her breath caught in her throat.
"Sharon," he said with a slight tremble in his voice. "In this moment, before this community that accepted us with open arms and, more importantly, with open hearts, I stand before you, a male transformed not by my own doing but by the grace of your love and the acceptance of a clan that I once viewed through the eyes of an adversary.
"Once, I walked a path shadowed by remorse and led by misguidance, a life marked by battles and a heart burdened with regret. I was a stranger to my own soul, lost in a darkness I thought impenetrable. But then you entered my life, a beacon of light in my unfathomable darkness, guiding me to a safe shore with your brave spirit and enormous heart.

He pulled out a ring from his pocket. "With this symbol of everlasting love, I pledge myself to you." He slipped the ring on her finger.
As the crowd erupted in cheers and applause, Sharon mouthed, "I love you. It was perfect."
He smiled. "I love you more than life."
The crowd went wild, with the groomsmen cheering and the bridesmaids wiping happy tears from their eyes.
Sharon waited for everyone to quiet down.
"Robert, my love. Before the eyes of our friends, new and old, I stand with you, my heart open, my soul alive with a joy I once thought was the stuff of fairy tales. In you, I have found not only a partner but also a reflection of true strength, resilience, and the purest form of courage.
"From the moment we met, I saw in you a spirit that resonated with something deep within me. I saw the shadows of your past, but more luminously, I saw the light of your potential, the warmth of your heart, and the true valor of your being.
