Creamy skin flushed pink with passion, hereyes a beautiful deep brown, bright with happiness. He was alreadyhalf in love with her. The mating connection allowed him to feel ashadow of her feelings in his own heart, and he knew she was on thesame page as him. They were both falling for each other, after onlya few hours together. The more time they spent together, the deeperthe connection would grow.

He nuzzled her belly with a purr, and shesighed deeply in contentment. “Cats love cream, I guess,” she saidwith a passion-roughed voice.

Grinning, he licked her navel. “You’re myfavorite flavor.”

Climbing up the bed, he dropped next to herand pulled her flush to him. She fit perfectly against him, hersoft curves against his hard muscles.

“Are you hungry?” she asked.

“I just ate,” he said, chuckling.

She snorted. “Well, I’m hungry.” Rolling toface him, she wiggled close and kissed his throat. “And sticky. Iwant a shower and something to eat.”

“It’s good to be sticky when it means we’vehad so much fun,” he said.

“True.”

After a long moment, he sat up and handed herthe tablet from the bedside table. “If you order room service, I’llget the shower ready.”

“What do you want?” She asked as she took thetablet from him.

“Whatever you’re having is fine. Then getyour sweet butt into the shower.”

He kissed her forehead and stood, stretching.Glancing at the clock, he saw they had a couple hours until it wastime to meet his brothers and sister. Just enough time to clean up,feed his mate, and get sticky all over again.

Chapter Seven

Aubrey closed her eyes as Alaric sucked onher neck. The elevator was quick, and she knew that the few floorsbetween hers and where his family was staying would be over fast, but she couldn’t get enough of Alaric.

Slipping her hands under the back of hisshirt, she said, “I feel so connected to you.”

“Me too,” he said against her neck.

“I didn’t think that would happen with mebeing human.”

He lifted from her neck and looked down ather. “We’re truemates, Aubrey. It wouldn’t matter if you were humanor another shifter or supernatural creature. The connection betweenus would be just as strong. You’re not less than because you’rehuman. You’re perfect for me because of what we are to eachother.”

“You don’t mind that I’m human?”

He scoffed. “No. There were times in my youthwhen I would have given anything to be human. It’s a difficult lifeat times. We are what we are, and there isn’t anything I’d changeabout you.” He raised a brow. “Does it bother you that I’m ashifter?”

“Of course not.”

“Good.”

The elevator reached the eighth floor andchimed, and the door slid open. “After dinner,” he said quietly,“we’re going to make love on the balcony.”

Her stomach flipped at the thought. “Whichone?”

“Both.”

He grinned devilishly, and she couldn’t helpbut return it. They walked down the long hallway to room number822. She had received a text from Gretchen with the room numberswhile she and Alaric had been making love the first time. She knewher best friend would have taken good care of Aubrey’s newfamily.

“I invited my brother to join us for dinner. He won’t eat, of course, but he can sit and chat. I’m excited foryou to meet him.”

Alaric nodded and knocked on the suite’sdoor. It swung open almost immediately, and Lia greeted themwarmly. When Aubrey followed Alaric into the room, Lia hugged hertightly.

“I’m so glad my brother found you,” shesaid.
