“Do you recognize any of these men?”

Hands clasped together in front of her, she studied them all for a moment, her eyes then turned to him. “I do.”

“Which ones?”

She lifted her foot off the ground slightly, pointing with her shoe. “Him… anddd him.”

“And how do you know them?”

“My father hates them.” Her face flamed with anger, her cheeks turning a deep shade of red. “They were both my clients in L.A. and used me to get to my family. He killed my uncle,” she stated, commenting on the first one, resentment in her tone.

“Your dad’s the one who sent us here!” One of them barked, glaring at her.

“What?!” Giovanna and Ian exclaimed simultaneously, their voices laced with shock and disbelief.

“Everyone out except Nico, Luke, and Gia!” Ian ordered. “NOW!”

Jade crossed her arms, her jaw clenched. “Mr. Kni?—”

“OUT!” he roared, cutting off Jade’s protests.

Huffing in infuriation, she followed the others out of the room, shooting daggers at me as she exited. I wanted to go after her or let her stay, but I also understood Ian’s need to ensure everyone’s safety, even if I didn’t agree with him this time. The others weren’t even supposed to know about the room, and I wondered why they’d been present at all. Once the door closed, Ian turned his attention back to Giovanna.

“How did you know they’d be here tonight?”

She sighed. “I got a text earlier from Joey,” she nodded toward the guy with shoulder-length black hair. “That’s him. He said he was coming to watch me dance, and I was planning on telling you guys. But it wasn’t until I arrived here that Amber told me to keep an eye out for anyone with a certain tattoo.”

“Shut up, bitch!” Joey snarled at her.

Without hesitation, I marched over and delivered a swift kick to his side. He cried out in pain before slumping over, his eyes fixed on the floor.

“Continue,” Ian urged Giovanna on.

With an exaggerated roll of her eyes, she resumed, “Anyway,” she drawled, her tone dripping with disdain, “I instantly recognized the tattoo. They all seem to have one somewhere on their bodies.” She shifted her weight onto one hip and continued, “I went about my business without telling any of you because I knew I could drag them out when they got here. I didn’t want to spook them and risk them not showing up.”

“So, you delivered them to me on a silver platter,” Ian mused, stroking his chin in thought.

“Yes, sir.” She stood tall, her hand still resting on her hip. “And I’m sorry I didn’t tell any of you first, but I couldn’t chance anything happening and ruining you possibly getting more of them off the street.”

Ian gave a single nod. “You can go now.”

“What about my father?” Her voice trembled slightly. “There’s no way he’d be on their side.”

“Go,” Ian muttered, his attention already shifting back to the men before him. “I’ll handle it.”

“Yes, sir.” She sauntered toward the door, offering me a nervous glance. “I’m sorry,” she whispered. As she reached for the handle, the man with honey-brown hair spoke up.

“That’s bullshit! Your father struck a deal with us!”

She whirled around, her eyes wide and panicked.

He continued, “To get you away from the club and he’d offer us protection from you guys.”

Giovanna’s gaze darted between the men before settling on Ian once again.

“Go find the girls,” Ian growled. “I’ll handle this.”

Without another word, she left, the door closing behind her. Ian twisted back toward the men, all but one cowering. I remained close by in case the fucker tried anything else.
