“Yes, her. As luck would have it, she was headlining at a club we went to, and she runs the back club as well. Long story short, this Russian cunt owns the place. You might know of her, but we’ll talk about that when I get home. She punched her and slapped her so we’re bringing her back. She’s got nothing so she’ll?—”

The girls and I can take her shopping!

“Excited already?” I snorted. “When I get there, we need to set her up with a place to live, so if you can start looking for an apartment, she can stay at my house, and I’ll stay with you if that’s fine?”

No, she can stay with us at my house. She rolled her eyes. I trust her already because of her family, but she’ll get bored out of her damn mind at your place, Bruce Wayne. She’s staying with us. Is that okay?

“I didn’t think in a million years you’d be okay with that, but of course, I’m okay with it.”

Good. She nodded once. When will you guys be back?

“Tomorrow evening.”

I filled her in on a few more things, and she now saw Giovanna as someone to take care of. Jade loved taking care of people. It was, yet another reason, I loved her and one of the many she was so good at her job. It was why all the girls respected her. More importantly, she trusted my judgement, which solidified my reasoning for taking Giovanna back to Boston.

When I returned downstairs, she seemed a bit more relaxed and was sipping on another mimosa with Chance and Declan. I pulled my chair out and sat. Their laughing diminished, and they turned their attention to me.

“Everything okay?” Chance asked.

“Yeah.” I lifted my chin to Giovanna. “You’re going to stay at my girlfriend’s house. She has plenty of room and she’s excited to meet you. His wife,” I dipped my head at Chance, “Amber, is our head dancer and she’ll probably be the one training you at work. Clearly, you know what you’re doing, but she’ll train you on policies.” I laced my fingers together over my stomach and propped my ankle on my other knee. “Ian and Jenna Knight are the other club owners. You’ll meet them there. I’d use formalities with them unless otherwise told. Ian’s weird about that shit.” I shrugged a shoulder. “Jenna, not so much, but Ian will make sure you refer to her as Mrs. Knight.”

She nodded once, chugging the rest of her drink, then set her glass on the table, scanning each of us. “I can’t wait.” She reached over, pouring herself another, then lifted it with a wide grin. “I promise to bring a shit ton of money into your club. Beantown won’t know what hit it.”

“Don’t call it Beantown!” The three of us spat together.

“Damn,” she snickered, “sorry.”

JADE

“Hi!” I entered the foyer, greeting Luke and Giovanna as they entered.

“Hey, baby.” He placed his bag on the floor then wrapped his arm around me, kissing me before moving to the side.

“Hi,” Giovanna replied with a beautiful, shy grin, though I could sense she was far from timid.

She was gorgeous! I could see instantly why she caught Luke’s attention. I would’ve snatched her right up and brought her back too. Based on her looks alone, she was going to fit in perfectly with our girls. Her long, layered vibrant pink hair parted to one side, covering the eye, I was guessing, was injured. Luke had filled me in a bit more on their flight home.

“Thank you for letting me stay here.” She drew her arms into her chest. “I promise to find my own place as soon as possible.”

“It’s totally fine, I promise.” I laughed quietly. “I’m Jade, obviously. My daughter’s?—”

“Hey, dad!” Maddie called out from the stairs before bouncing down and hugging him, causing our eyes to widen.

“Hey, kiddo.” He squeezed her tight, then bent over, kissing the top of her head. “Did you behave while I was gone?”

“Of course, I did.” She let out a little laugh that sounded like a machine gun before she turned to Giovanna. “Hi, you’re… Giovanna?”

She grinned. “Hi, yeah, but you guys can all call me Gia. All my friends call me that.”

“Gia,” Maddie repeated. “I’m Madison, but everyone calls me Maddie.”

“I love your name!”

“And I love your hair!” Maddie countered before turning to me. “Mom, can we color mine too?”

I ran my fingers through her long, blonde locks, ruffling her strands. “Maybe in the summer, but your school might not like that so much.”

Maddie attended the prestigious private school, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, where anything fun was forbidden, like most Catholic schools. Luke had attended when he was a child, and though he had wonderful memories of the place, the guidelines were strict. However, she was thriving there and made lots of friends. So, I kept her there. Pleased with my reply, Maddie scampered back upstairs, leaving us with Giovanna again.
