Tyler pulled his bottom lip into his mouth for a moment before lowering his hands to his hips with a heavy sigh. “Kieran was up here earlier and gave me some information about Dante,” he explained, stepping over to the coffee table in the sitting area to retrieve a thick folder. He waltzed back over and handed it to me, caution evident in his expression. “Before you open it, I need to warn you.”

I lowered it to my side, scoffing in disbelief. “Warn me about what?!”

“There’s a lot of information in there, and something else that’s pretty disturbing that you may not be prepared to see,” Tyler replied gravely.

Confused, I furrowed my brows. “How did my brother get that kind of information?”

“Not him,” Tyler took a step back, stroking the short, dark beard on his chin. “Me.”

Holding the folder to my chest, I asked, “You have some information on me too?”

He nodded once.

As I thumbed the edge of the envelope, anticipation and dread warred within me. With trembling hands, I pulled it open and lowered my eyes to the photo inside. Dante’s black hair was slicked back, falling just above his broad shoulders. A strand of it curled around his high cheekbones, emphasizing their sharpness, before coming to a stop next to his piercing icy grey eyes. My chest tightened as a wave of nausea threatened to overwhelm me at the sight of his handsome face. But this was no ordinary beauty. It was like that of Lucifer himself, full of irresistible charm and wisdom. It was the very reason people trusted him, and why I had fallen under Dante’s spell in the first place.

I flipped to the next page, only to come to an abrupt halt. My mouth fell agape, and my eyes widened in shock. “Holy shit,” Luke and I gasped simultaneously as the folder tumbled from my shaking hands and onto the floor.

Jenna rushed over, concern etched on her face. “What’s wrong?!”

Tyler crouched down and began picking up the scattered photos and papers. “You should really look through everything,” he urged, with a somber tone.

“That bastard’s got Maddie’s name tattooed on the side of his neck,” Luke’s voice was thick with rage as he pulled me close to his side, his grip tight and protective.

Jenna spun around to face Ian, her eyes blazing with determination. “Jade and I were discussing this earlier, and we have reason to believe that there may be a spy among our group.” She turned to me, catching my eye. “I haven’t had a chance to tell him yet.”

Ian’s face turned a deep shade of red, and he paused mid-drag of his cigarette, pulling out his phone from the inside pocket of his jacket.

“No!” Jenna snapped at him, her frustration significant.

Raising an eyebrow, Ian took the cigarette away from his lips.

With a sigh, I stepped forward, ready to face the consequences of bringing this up. Better it be directed at me than Jenna if it turned out that Ian didn’t agree with us. “I did discuss it briefly with Luke,” I said, my gaze focused on Ian. “She’s right. We think you guys have a spy among you.”

Tyler’s head bobbed in agreement as he looked from Ian to us. “Same thing I told him, so this just confirms it.”

Ian scanned all of us before speaking through the smoke drifting from his lips. “And who do you suspect this traitor to be?”

“We don’t know for certain.” I shrugged.

“Well then,” Ian replied, pushing his chair back, and sinking into it before rolling it forward. “You’ll have to do better than that if you want me to start taking action.” He raised an eyebrow at me. “I need specifics.”

“It’s definitely not one of the girls,” Jenna interjected firmly.

“We believe it could be one of the bouncers, or extra security personnel,” I added.

“No way it’s someone like Ice Man or Nico,” Tyler chimed in.

“Yeah, we know that much for certain,” I replied.

Ian’s hand rested on the smooth surface of his jacket before he retrieved his phone again, holding it to his ear. His voice was low and demanding as he spoke into the receiver.

Yes?

They’re in here with me.

We’re finishing a meeting. We’ll be down soon.

He hung up, his jaw clenched with the cigarette between his fingers. “Okay, we’ll keep an even closer eye on everyone tonight, even our own.”
