The alley. The dark alley where she and her sister had been attacked months ago. He had been there, bragging about how he was going to carve the two of them up with a knife. Only Griz and Wyatt’s timely arrival had saved them.

And now he was here, standing next to a human cube of muscle, who also sported a Grim Reaper neck tattoo. The sight of them brought her to an immediate standstill; she started to feel panic rising up in her and she suddenly couldn’t think straight.

The men with her didn’t seem to be fazed at all at the sight of the two Death’s Head members. In fact, quite the opposite.

“You assholes got a lot of fucking nerve, being out here,” Wyatt said loudly as he strode toward them. Griz was right at his side, with Devil flanking opposite. Boomer slid around in front of Becca, putting a comforting arm on her shoulder as he got between her and Death’s Head.

“Oh, no shit,” the giant bodybuilder said. “Look who came out to whine to the cops.”

“The only person I hear whining is you, fuckface,” Wyatt said. “What the hell got into your tiny little brain to make you think you could roll into our territory like this?”

Once again, Becca noticed that when Wyatt was around, Griz tended to stay quiet and let him do most of the talking.

“Hey, hey, hey,” the muscle-bound guy said. “I’m just here to give my brother a ride home. We didn’t come to start no beef.”

“And this asshole?” Griz said, staring down at the skinny one.

“Oh, hey, it’s Skinny!” Wyatt said, grinning wide. “Man, you really never learn, hunh?”

“Oh, I learn,” Skinny said. “You’re the one who’s going to learn.”

“Yes, good one,” Wyatt said. “Good comeback. Made a lot of sense. Where’s Lou? And Lunchbox?”

“Don’t worry about them,” Skinny said.

“I’m not worried. I was just hoping to take Lou’s gun away from him again. I’m what, two for two?”

“Three for three,” Griz said.

“Three for three!” Wyatt said happily.

“We don’t need no Lou and we don’t need no guns,” Skinny said. “We’re here to pick up his brother, that’s all.”

“Your brother isn’t going to need a ride home,” Boomer said.

“Why’s that, old man?” the muscle man said.

“Because he just got arrested, asshole,” Wyatt said.

“What?” the muscle man said. “They said it was just supposed to be a lineup.”

“Yeah,” Wyatt said. “It was. And then he got identified, which means he got arrested. I mean, really, did you think you could come out here, shoot up the neighborhood, hit a pregnant lady with a car and nobody would notice?”

“This the bitch said he did it?” Mr. Muscles said.

“Watch your mouth, dirtbag,” Griz said.

“Or what? You going to assault me right here in front of the police station?”

“I’m going to rip your fucking head off right here in front of the police station,” Griz said.

Mr. Muscles looked around Boomer at Becca, and shook his head at her.

“Being a witness, that’s a big responsibility, lady,” he said. “A lot of people would be worried about their safety.”

“You open your mouth to threaten her again and I’m going to pull your jaw off,” Griz said.

“You think those cops inside are going to protect you?” Mr. Muscles said.
