“Two hundred?” Wyatt said. “Two hundred what? Two hundred thousand?”

Poor Wyatt. Living in his biker boy bubble world.

“Uh, million, Wyatt,” she said. “Two hundred million.”

“Are you shitting me?” Wyatt said. “You negotiated a deal worth two hundred million dollars?”

“Well, these are major corporations, you know,” Becca said. “The numbers get pretty big.”

Wyatt blew out a slow breath. “I guess so.”

“Did something go wrong?” Kate asked.

“I didn’t think so. I mean, the deal went through and all. We made some concessions that we didn’t want to make, but it didn’t seem like a problem. I cleared it with my little piece of shit back-stabbing rat-fucking supervisor…”

“I’m guessing this is where the trouble comes in,” Kate said.

“…and then yesterday, I got called in front of all the partners and chewed out and told that I somehow fucked everything up. And that shitball Ryan fed them a bunch of lies about me…”

“Hang on,” Kate said. “Is this the guy…”

“Yes,” Becca said, before her sister could finish the question. “Yes, this is the guy at the office I was having an affair with.”

“Wait, you were banging him?” Wyatt said. “You were sleeping with your boss and he sold you out to the owners…”

“Partners,” Becca corrected.

“…and he sold you out to the partners?” Wyatt said.

“That’s pretty awful,” Griz said. “Is that why you got fired?”

“Well, that, but…”

She threw her hands up in the air. Might as well let it all out.

“I was going to get fired anyway, I’m sure, but then, I freaked out and lost my cool and started yelling. I may or may not have used the words ‘undersized penis’ and ‘gets soft inside of me’.”

“Ouch,” Wyatt said.

“That’s pretty bad, Becca,” Kate said.

“I know, right?” Becca said. “I mean, once in a while it happens to everyone, but he would go soft, like, all the time…”

“No, Becca,” Kate said, “I meant, it’s pretty bad that you said that to his face.”

“Oh, no,” Becca said. “Not justhisface.”

“No?” Kate said.

“It was in the middle of a meeting with all the partners and… well, everybody,” Becca said. “It was in front of everybody.”

“You announced his dick issues in front of the entire company?” Wyatt said. “I’ve never worked a day in my life for a corporation and I’d still say, yeah, you definitely burned every bridge there is.”

“You’re not helping, Wyatt,” Becca said. “What am I going to do?”

“Don’t worry, Becca,” Griz said. “It’ll be all right.”

“Oh, thanks, Chewie. Some meaningless platitudes will definitely fix everything,” Becca said. “That means cliché.”
