“You’re out of my comfort zone.”

I put down my huge drink and straddle his lap, hugging him, until it’s time to play.

Chapter 26

Yes, No, Maybe

Alistair clears his throat as if he’s about to start a speech or lecture a class. I can picture him wearing glasses. He’s soooo hot.

“Number one,” he says, looking at the list on his phone, sounding very official.

I’m an enthusiastic student, hanging on his every word. We’re lounging on the sofa, close enough for him to have a hand on my foot, which I love.

“Sixty-nine,” he says.

“Already?” I joke. “I thought we were on number one.”

“I see what you’re doing,” Alistair says. “Deflecting.”

I hang my head in mock shame. “Sorry.”

“Sixty-nine,” he repeats. “Yes, no, or maybe?”

“Hell yes,” I say. “Is there a column for hell yes?”

“Any yes should be a hell yes. Otherwise, it’s a maybe.”

“Got you,” I say. “Sixty-nine: Yes.”

Ha. This game is easy. I don’t even know why I was worried.

“Anal sex,” he reads, and I accidentally spray my mouthful of gin and tonic over his fancy trousers.

He laughs so much it makes me join in, spluttering as I do so.

“Jesus,” I say, once I’ve recovered a bit. “What about a bit of a warm-up? A bit of foreplay? Before you go diving into the brutal topic of sodomy.”

He laughs more. “Right. You have a point. In my defense, the list appears to be in alphabetical order.”

“Let’s start from the bottom then,” I say, and we both erupt into laughter again.

“Right.” Alistair scrolls through the PDF. “From the ass end. Ready?”

I nod enthusiastically. This is way more fun than I expected.

“Voyeurism,” he says.

I think about how turned on I got at the club, watching other people, especially the woman with all the young men in suits.

“That’s a definite yes,” I say. “I didn’t know until you took me to Iniquity.”

Alistair ticks the box and makes a note.

“What are you writing?” I ask.

“Just notes.”

“What kind of notes?”
