“And you look like them.”

“She’s not here. She’s no longer your plaything to toy with either.”

“She’s my girlfriend. The woman I love,” I ground out back at him.

“He’ll never allow it. And neither will I. So, if you’ve come here to threaten or torture her location out of me, you’ve made a wasted trip.”

“Do you really think it would do me well to torture my girl’s family member?”

He frowned. “Then what—”

I pulled down my hood and the baseball cap, running a hand through my hair.

He realized what I was planning and made a move against me, only to abruptly pull up short before he even made contact.

I followed his line of sight to see Aaron suddenly now standing just a few feet away, his uncompromising glare fixed on Drew, as he stood in a wide, intimidating stance, his hands shoved in the pockets of his black bomber jacket. Damn, all these years later, the guy still hadn’t lost that enforcer presence of his.

“Scourge,” Drew grunted, then cursed under his breath.

I grabbed his hand and forced a shake, speaking loudly. “Drew Carlyle? Damn, it’s been way too long, buddy! I can’t believe I haven’t laid eyes on the infamous ex-Seal, good ol’ Drew Carlyle in way too long! You remember me? Killian Carmichael? Brought my Harley into you after I wiped out and you saved my pride and joy? Damn, you’ve got some skills.”

His eyes narrowed and he jerked his hand free. “You piece of shit.”

Commotion erupted, taking his focus, and then several college-aged girls were bouncing over to me.

“Oh my God, it’s Killian Carmichael!” a couple of them shrieked.

“Can we… please let us take a photo for our Insta with you! It’ll make our year!”

I did my thing, plastering on the movie-star smile, then wrapping my arm around Drew, jerking him closer, then draping my other over the first girl to pull her phone out and sidle up to me. “Do your thing, babe.”

“He just called me babe!” she shrieked to her friends, who bounced up and down excitedly.

The crowds moved, coming over, adding to the spectacle until I had tens of people encircling me and Drew, camera flashes inundating us.

I growled low at Drew’s ear, while keeping my friendly, golden boy smile plastered on tight for my fans, “Tell Lance this is just the start. We’ll keep pushing until he brings Aurora back where she belongs.”

He grunted against me, then managed to extricate himself.

He disappeared into the crowds then, but I let him go.

The damage was already done.

Mission accomplished.

The swarm around me increased until they were pushing against me, some trying to kiss my cheek, everyone all over me, the flashes coming hard and fast, almost blinding me.

And then a strong hand snagged my arm and pulled me free.

“Gotta run, kiddos,” Aaron’s voice sounded a moment before he stepped in front of me like a human shield. “Killian’s gotta head out to that nightclub opening in Torvin.”

“Which nightclub?” a few of them asked.

Through the chaos, I heard Aaron give them a fake name and a fake street to go along with the fake opening.

And then he was leading me away.

The crowds followed, but being who he was, and as good as he was, he somehow enabled us to lose the tail, weaving in and out of the crowds in one moment, then making us disappear in the next.
