I shake my head, staring at her, taking in every inch of her flawless skin, every frown line in her forehead and the laugh lines around her mouth. She nods, bringing me back to the question I asked. “Nothing. I was just thinking, I hate that I lost you. I can see why your dad always thought I wasn’t good enough. I was a punk. But now, there’s nothing in this world that means more to me…nothing.”

“You're scaring me.”

I sigh. “There’s no need to be scared, baby, but I am gonna make sure that no one in this fucked up world will ever touch what’s mine again. Okay?”

She smiles sweetly and nods her head. “I love you.”

Rolling onto my back, Luna curls into my side and settles her cheek on my chest. “When I was in jail, we had this tiny window in our cell and when I was doing hard time, I’d stare up from my bed on the top bunk and could just about see the moon shining in the sky. Some nights I could see it better than others and it would shine so bright, it would light the whole sky up, but you know what I thought of as I closed my eyes...”

“No.” she twists her head to rest her chin on my chest and watches me intently, listening carefully.

“You.” I glance down at her. “You were my hope. My salvation. You kept me clean. Do you remember when I told you I thought you hung the moon?” She nods but doesn’t speak. “You were my moon. With every new moon, it incites a new era. A fresh start. That was my intent when I came home, and to think what he tried to do to you, and right under my fucking nose…” I inhale deeply, a calming breath so I don’t lose it. “It makes me sick to the fucking stomach.”

“Hey,” she lifts herself up, throws a leg over mine and lies on top of me holding my face and forces me to look into her eyes. “You stopped him, baby. Please don’t beat yourself up about it.”

“He should never have had the chance to get to you like that.” I’m still so angry with myself for leaving that night.

“Shh.” She places her finger over my lips and I kiss it before moving my hands to her hips as she rocks them, her heated core seated over my now hard dick. “Why don’t you blow off some steam.” She winks.

I thrust my hips in an upward motion and grind against her. “I think that’s a fucking damn good idea.” I growl, tightening my grip. She pushes back and pulls my buttoned fly apart, to unleash my cock. “It’ll have to be quick.”

“I can do quick.” Luna smirks before turning serious again. “This is our new moon. Let’s get this little problem out of the way and we can have our fresh start.” Luna states, smiling.

“I fucking love you. So, fucking hard.” Her lips meet mine in a soft kiss, but it soon heats up. I roll her to her back and push up, bearing my weight on my hands. “Now get your fucking panties off.”

“Such a romantic.” She giggles, but it doesn’t take long before I’m fucking lost in her and her giggles are turning to cries of pleasure.

CHAPTER 30

LUNA

Things have been quiet for the last few days. Mac hasn’t been sighted, but neither have the Savage Souls, and that’s making Levi and the other guys edgy. And I can’t keep feeling like I’m balancing on an edge. I can’t go anywhere or do anything by myself, and I hate it. I might be a club princess, but I hate this level of protection. I’ve always come and gone as I pleased. In fact, this is why I got out as soon as I could. I detested the whole ‘don’t go here alone, don’t go there…’ when I was growing up. And on top of all that, I’m bored. There’s only so much anyone can do in a clubhouse, and constantly being surrounded by club sluts is giving me a bitter taste in my mouth.

I venture into the main room and see a new guy; he’s putting some stock away behind the bar. Shoving my hands in my back pockets of my jeans, I cross the room with purpose and go over to him.

“Hey. Are you the new prospect?” His head snaps up and he spins around to face me.

“Yeah…” his tone cautious.

I push my hand out in front of me and smile sweetly. “I’m Luna.”

“Brendan.” He says and takes my hand, shaking it firmly.

“Would you like some help?” I offer, pulling my hand back and folding my arms back on the bar. I need to do something, and this is what I know.

His eyes widen at my offer, so I’m guessing that’s a no.

“Oh no, it’s okay.” He gives me an awkward grin. “Only club members are allowed behind the bar.”

“Really?” Trying to hide my grin, I nod. “That’s cool. You just look like you need help, is all.” I stand back upright and plant my ass on the stool and swivel on it, pushing my elbows back to rest on the bar to look out into the room. It’s so quiet. That is until a cacophony of cackles reaches my ears when two of the sluts walk in. It’s not even lunchtime and they already look loaded. “Ugh.” I swivel back around and sit side-on, my chin moving to rest in my hand. “Fucking great, that’s all I need.”

In my peripheral vision, I see Brendan’s brow lift. “I take it you don’t get along with those girls.”

My expression matches his as I reply. “You could say that. Being friends with club sluts is not my idea of fun.” As I turn to look at them again, I notice the one that Chains screwed the night he came back. Her nose screws up as she glares back. So, I smile sarcastically. I’m not in the mood for her shit today so I turn back to the bar. “So, how old are you, Brendan?”

“Almost twenty-one.”

“Ooh how soon is almost?” I ask, genuinely interested. He’s a nice guy, good looking with short hair and clean-shaven face, but a little shy with it. A couple of months with these guys will bring him out of his shell though, I’m sure.
