“By the way, take all the green apple ones, leave the watermelon ones. We’ll keep those,” James said, wagging his eyebrows, making Zi blush and me more confused.

“Why?” I asked and remembered the blush on Cory’s face the day he saw me eating the candy.

“Oh, because you can wrap it arou—” James started answering but stopped when Zi interrupted him.

“Not in front of the child!” Zi practically shrieked.

“Shit, right. Here hang on.” James pulled his phone out of his pocket and searched for something on it. When he found what he was looking for, he lowered the volume and handed it to me with another of his signature shit-eating grins, while Zi ran out of the room, screaming that she needed to get changed between giggles.

I looked at his phone and found myself watching a fourteen-minute video of a woman explaining how to properly wrap someone’s dick with a fruit roll-up and the proper technique to suck it.

“Cory’s seen this?” I asked.

“Of course, I showed it to him and Jo when I found it. That woman is a godsend to men everywhere,” he answered proudly. I rolled my eyes and looked down at the candy again, a few thoughts popping into my head.

“And why do you want me to take the green apple ones?”

“Because Cory smells like green apple. I don’t need my girl—”

“Okay, Okay. I get it,” I grumbled, grabbing a grocery bag from under the counter and grabbing most of my green apple snacks. If they weren’t going to be appreciated here, I’d put them in our pantry.

“Are you ready to go?” Zi came back in.

We set off to the pack house, and when we got there, Jo was helping Cory with breakfast while Melinda sat pouting with her arms crossed on the table.

“What did you do?” I asked Jo, and Cory smirked before he turned back to the pan.

“I just wanted her to sit and do nothing. Like the princess she deserves to be,” Jo said, but the way he looked away quickly told me there was more.

“He said, and I quote, ‘Sit down before you hurt yourself with a knife’ when I asked Cory if I could help cut the tortillas into strips,” she growled.

“Oooooh,” James, Zi, and I reacted.

“Ya fucked up, Jo. Good luck groveling,” Zi said, patting the man in the back before she got the juice out of the fridge for Molly.

“But she cut herself yesterday!” Jo tried to argue.

“Doesn’t matter, you fucked up,” I answered. Jo’s shoulders slumped, and he turned back to the pan where he was roasting things for fresh salsa. I smirked and excused myself to finish packing while the food was cooking.

When I came back, everyone was setting up the plates. Melinda sat between Zi and I as a form of protest, and poor Jo barely ate anything while he pouted. I could see him continually trying to mind-link his mate, his mood souring more every time he failed. I admired Melinda’s restraint. I would have caved by now, but their mating was almost half a year older than ours. Maybe I’d be able to give Cory the cold shoulder in a few months, too, and even get to punish him.

‘Don’t even think about it, Little Pokémon. I’m the only one that gets to punish you, mate,’ Cory mind-linked me.

‘How the hell did you know what I was thinking?’ I asked in bewilderment.

‘I can see that brilliant brain of yours working while you look at Jo and Mel and that tiny smile you’re trying to hide.’

I huffed.

‘Well, why can’t I get to punish you?’

‘I don’t do anything to deserve punishment.’ His smug answer made me snort.

‘Well, if that isn’t the epitome of something a mamma’s boy would say,’ I replied and laughed out loud when Cory choked on his breakfast.

‘Oh, we’re going to enjoy punishing you for that one, my bratty little mate,’ Tenoch added while Cory was still trying to clean himself up. I shivered at the warning, clenching my thighs together so the whole table wouldn’t smell my arousal.

“Are you alright, Evie?” James asked, a small smirk making it to Cory’s face.
