She hopped off my lap, and I watched her move to the guest bathroom instead of the one in our room. Before she shut the door, she turned and looked at me. She chewed on that sweet puffy bottom lip of hers, and I felt crazy jealous. I wanted to be the one who bit it. I was like a fucking caveman. I hardly recognized myself.

“Will you wait for me in your room?” My cock jerked at what that meant. My woman had plans for me, for us.

“Our room,” I corrected roughly. My hands had been on my knees, and my nails turned white as I sat there. Our eyes locked, and I watched something change in her expression. Sunny’s eyes filled with a brighter light. She liked when I reminded her that this place, this house, was not just mine but ours.

“Our room,” she whispered, but I heard her loud and clear. I stood and felt the way her eyes dipped down my body and widened at the sight of the imprint of my dick against the dress pants that left little to the imagination.

“Second thoughts, sunshine?” Her eyes popped up to mine.

“No… just…” She licked her lips, and my cock started to pulse.

“It will fit. We will fit,” I promised hoarsely. Sunny nodded before she shut the bathroom door behind her.

“Fucking hell.” I breathed in deeply and exhaled slowly.

Trying to get my shit together. And when I had as much of a handle on things as I could manage, I stalked into our bedroom and hoped like hell she liked her next wedding day surprise.

Sunny

Nerves trickled in, but I quickly shook them off. I knew how much March wanted me. There was no way a man could fake that kind of interest. We had just met, and now I was legally tied to him. My husband. I was his wife. The idea was insane, but as I stared at the reflection of myself in the mirror, I could see the certainty in my eyes.

I was falling in love with March West.

It was beyond stupid.

I had not only given him my first kiss but my trust, and I knew the moment I walked into his bedroom, our bedroom, I was going to not only hand over my body but my heart as well.

I hadn’t saved my virginity for any particular reason or because I was waiting for Mr. Right. Dating and sex hadn’t happened for me. As a teenager, I had been too busy with school and getting good grades, and when I graduated, I jumped into working at the call center and hardly ever had time to come up for air, much less to meet someone and start a relationship.

But as I reached for the doorknob of the bathroom, I knew everything happened for a reason. I liked the idea of giving myself to March completely, mind, body, and soul.

No matter how this whole thing started.

I walked through the hall and straight to the bedroom. He hadn’t turned the lights on, but he didn’t need to. Sunshine streamed in through the cracks of the blinds, casting shadows and light in a way that made the space look almost magical. But that wasn’t what made me stop mid-step.

This man.

This big, beautiful cowboy was so much more than I could have ever expected.

The room had a handful of candles in soft pink glass vases. They filled the space with a soft, romantic glow. Bunches of daisies and white roses sat in different mason jars around the bedroom.

And the bed?

The bed had soft pink rose petals sprinkled over the pristine white bedding. It took me a moment to process and soak in everything he’d done.

For me.

For us.

No one other than Sadie had so much as bought me a birthday cake, but March had done that and so much more.

“Fuck.” His deep voice snapped me out of my thoughts. My eyes sought him out in the room, and when I found him, I was more than happily surprised.

March stood next to the dark recliner he had in the corner of the room next to a window. He was shirtless, and the dress slacks he wore had the top button undone. The sight of him, the way his muscles seemed to flex and relax, so defined and cut, made my fingers itch to touch him.

But that wasn’t all.

It was the way he stood, with his body locked tight as his gaze greedily soaked in the sight of me.
