“I thought since tonight was special…” I felt a little silly as I touched the belt of the white satin robe I’d covered up with. “I saw it when I went into town and had to buy it.” Even after he avoided me, I’d held on to hope that we’d find our way here. March West was a potent serving of masculine beauty.

I watched as he swallowed hard, his Adam’s apple bobbing up and down before he looked up at the ceiling and shut his eyes.

“Was this stupid?” I quietly asked.

“No, baby girl.” His tone might have softened, but the intensity in his gaze hadn’t.

“Then why are you still standing all the way over there?” I sassily asked. I had no idea where the courage I was clinging to came from, but I wasn’t going to overthink it. I knew what I wanted.

“Because,” he rasped as his head righted and those beautiful blue eyes I was slowly falling in love with connected with mine, “I move closer to you, it’s game over.”

“I’m pretty sure the ring on my finger most definitely confirms that, handsome.” His nose flared at my sassiness, and I giggled. “You’re making me a little nervous,” I shared honestly.

“No need to be.” He licked his lips. “You want me to take over? Tell you what to do right now?”

“Yes,” I answered immediately. I was good with direction and a fast learner.

“You sure about this? I put my hands on you, I’m not sure I’m strong enough to stop, Sunny.”

“I won’t want you to stop.” I had no idea what I was getting myself into, but I knew in my soul he was it for me.

The pulsing heat between my legs couldn’t be ignored. It was too much. I needed more. My legs pressed together, and I knew he didn’t miss the need for relief I ached for. Relief I had a feeling he would know exactly how to take care of.

“You’re going to be a good girl for me, aren’t you?” My body trembled. I had no idea why him calling me his good girl was so hot, but it was. Wetness pooled between my thighs, and I was pretty sure the scrap of material that were the panties I was wearing beneath the lacy nightie were more than ruined. I nodded because my tongue felt too big for my mouth.

“Good girl,” he whispered, and goose bumps flared over my skin. I watched as he sat down on the chair, his back straight with his legs spread wide. “Come here, sunshine.” He patted his thick muscular thigh, and I let my heart lead me through the bedroom. I didn’t stop until I was standing in front of him. March’s big hands touched the outside of my knees as his eyes locked with mine.

“You need to stop at any moment, you tell me. You need me to slow down, you say so. A break, all you gotta do is…”

“Say so,” I whispered, and he nodded.

“Not just tonight, but from here on out. Okay?”

“Okay,” I whispered. March’s jaw clenched, and his hands rose to undo the satin belt on the robe, and I thought I caught a slight tremble as he undid the bow. I found his nervousness endearing. I knew he was naturally a confident man. One look at March, and anyone would know that. Yet it wasn’t the case with me as he worked the belt.

The satin material came undone, and he pulled it to the side to get a better look at what I wore underneath. There was something addictive about the greedy, dark way he took in the sight of me. Like he was soaking it in, engraving it to memory. I’d always assumed that the day when I stood half-naked in front of a man would have made me nervous. Self-conscious.

But it wasn’t that way.

Not with March.

If anything, I felt powerful. Sexy. Almost like a goddess in his eyes.

“Fuck, sunshine,” his voice rumbled, and I shivered. It felt like it vibrated off my over-sensitive flesh. “You look good enough to eat.” He licked his lips, and I was almost positive my knees were about to buckle.

I wanted him to eat me.

Devour me up in one big gulp.

His hands slid from my waist down to the hem of the robe before they slipped underneath. His rough, calloused hands felt incredible on my sensitive skin.

“Take the robe off,” he breathed, and I nodded.

The satiny material shimmied off my shoulders. He held his hands out, and I handed him the robe. He smiled and lifted it to his nose and breathed in my scent.

“Fuck,” he cursed. “You smell so good. You’re so damn perfect, baby.”

“I’m not.” I shook my head, and a hand dropped to the swell of my belly. He moved fast, dropped the robe on the armrest, and took my hands in his.
