“Thank you.” She takes a sip, making a God-awful face.

“What’s wrong?”

“Your espresso machine must be broken; there’s a bunch of raw coffee grinds in this cup,” she says, taking the tiny spoon and trying to scoop them out.

I raise an eyebrow. “I thought that’s how you liked your coffee?”

She laughs, shaking her head. “Come to my mamá’s bakery, and I’ll teach you about ellinikos kafes.”

“It’s a date.” I grin.

“Without the extortion this time,” she says dryly.

“Who says crime doesn’t pay? Look where it got me—in bed with this little hellcat.” I duck just in time as she playfully swings a pillow at my head.

We finish breakfast and get ready—sadly, with me showering Katerina’s scent off my body. Getting dressed, she tosses her panties to me, and I catch them. “In case you need a little whiff later,” she tells me, and I unabashedly stick them in my pocket.

We drive back to the city, and she tells me, “You need to drop me off at the casino to pick up my car.”

“Your car’s at your place,” I correct her.

She shakes her head. “I left it at the casino, remember?”

“I do remember, that’s why I had one of my men drive it back to your place.”

“You made men,” she mutters.

We arrive at her condo, and I park and hustle around my SUV, opening Katerina’s door. “Such a gentleman, but I know better,” she teases.

“Treated like a queen,” I remind her, placing my hand on the small of her back as we walk to the front door. She smiles softly at me before unlocking her front door, but before she can get away from me, I grab her and kiss her like I can’t get enough; because I fucking can’t. “Think about my offer, and I’ll see you tonight for our lessons,” I say against her lips.

“Alright,” she says with a sigh.

“Such a good girl, but I know better,” I tease, and she laughs, closing her door.

I take it back; teasing Katerina is now my third favorite thing. The first is making her come, followed by making her laugh. And the fact that I can make her laugh with me, and not at me, teenage Fabio would’ve never believed it.

Sliding behind the wheel of my SUV, I drive to my restaurant, pulling up to the back. My phone rings, and I answer the call from Vince. “Luna’s gone,” he says in a panic.

“What do you mean gone?” I say in a calm tone.

“I mean I dropped her off at chess practice, and she must’ve doubled back and is trying to run from me,” he says with a snarl.

I pinch the bridge of my nose. The last thing I need is one of the family’s biggest money-making associates disappearing on my watch. “Send me her picture and the address where you last saw her. I’m putting all of our men and every police contact we have on this. When we find Luna, either you put the fear of God in her, or I will,” I warn.

“Not a problem,” he says through gritted teeth.

Kat

“Why are you wearing a turtleneck?” Taylor eyes me suspiciously as we walk to the employee parking lot after our shift.

“I got a pretty bad sunburn on my neck this weekend. It looks terrible, so I’m trying to cover it up.” It’s summer, and here I am, wearing a turtleneck thanks to Fabio. I swear, the man might have a hickey fetish. On top of his pet fetish.

“What’s that smile?” she asks.
