“Fine.”

“Follow me.”

The second I moved, so did everyone else.

Stopping, I turned to all the brothers and other women. “Seriously?”

“Not missing this for the world.” Priest grinned.

“Not leaving my bestie’s side,” Scribe added, holding up his phone. “Besides, I’ve got to record it. How else is the world gonna know?”

“I’m here for moral support.” Sarah smiled.

“Me too,” Pheobe, Henley and Sugar said at once.

“Not me.” Devlyn chuckled. “I’m here to watch the fireworks.”

Rolling my eyes, I ignored them all as I entered an empty room. Leaving the door open, I walked over to my stool and grabbed a sterile pair of gloves. “Put her on the table, King. Bailey, lift your shirt and lower your leggings.”

Doing as she was told, I turned on my ultrasound machine before grabbing a towel. Placing it across her pelvis, I tucked it under the waistband of her leggings. Grabbing the bottle of jelly, I squirted a dollop on her stomach, then grabbed the hand-held mouse.

Looking at Cameron, I asked, “You ready, young man?”

“Yep!”

Turning the screen away from everyone so only Cameron and I could see, I moved the small wand around Bailey’s stomach and instantly found her baby. Smiling, I quickly located the heart and turned up the machine so everyone could hear the heartbeat.

“Wow,” Cameron gasped. “That’s fast.”

“Yep. 140 beats. That’s good.”

“Will it always beat that fast?”

“No, when the baby is born, the heartbeat will eventually normalize.”

“What’s that?” Cameron said, pointing at the screen.

“That’s the baby’s spine.”

“It looks like a dinosaur spine.”

Several brothers chuckled, as did I. “Yeah, it does, doesn’t it? King, Bailey, you will be happy to know that there is only one baby.”

“Thank God,” Bailey sighed as King smiled happily.

“Get to the good stuff, Lidi,” Scribe stated anxiously.

“Yeah,” Priest added. “What’s in there? Death and destruction or another brother for the Sons of Hell?”

The room chuckled when Bailey stuck her tongue out at Priest.

“Alright,” I laughed, shaking my head. “Cameron, come closer and tell me what you see.”

Holding the wand steady, I watched as Cameron leaned closer to the screen. “Well, I see two arms. A face. The spine and a big belly.”

“That’s good,” Bailey snarked.

“Oh look, it’s kicking!” Cameron gasped, pointing at the screen.
