Smiling, Callum hadn’t realized how much he missed Drew. A pang of homesickness hit his chest. Pacing away from the trailer, Callum tried to soothe his alpha. “Seriously, is everything okay there? Is Mason okay?”

“Everything is fine here. I’m concerned about you, though.” Through the phone, Callum could hear Drew’s footsteps. He was pacing, too. “Get your girl, and get back here.”

“It’s not that simple.”

“Callum.” The word was a growled warning.

“I can’t just rip her away from her family. And honestly, Drew, I’ve barely spoken to her. I need to learn more about her.”

“I just don’t want you to get stuck there. It feels like a trap.”

“It’s not.”

“Is that another thing they teach you in Cult Class 101?”

“I swear it’s not a cult.” Just then, Rafe’s SUV pulled into Elliot’s driveway. “I promise I’ll be home as soon as I can.”

“Be careful,” Drew warned. “And if you aren’t back soon, I’m coming to get you myself.”

“I’ll be back.”

“Good.” Drew hung up the call.

Callum tapped the phone against his palm before slipping it into his pocket. He waved to Rafe as the alpha hopped out of the vehicle.

“Hey.” Rafe locked the SUV and nodded at Callum. Together, they mounted the few steps to Elliot’s trailer.

Inside, Elliot had put on a shirt and was sitting on the couch. “Fredrica had to go,” he said as he stretched his arms out along the back of the cushions.

Rafe perched on a bar stool.

“What did your alpha want?” Elliot’s stare was hard.

Callum’s brow pinched. “What do you mean?”

Elliot rolled his eyes. “I’m not an idiot. Your alpha had to go, and a second later, you stepped out to take a call. So what did he want?”

Swallowing, Callum admitted, “He wants me to get home.”

“And are you going?”

Callum met his cousin’s gaze. “Yes, as soon as I can.”

“And what about Vivian?” This time the question came from Rafe. “You didn’t imprint on her last night.”

“How do you know that?” Callum frowned.

Grinning, Rafe lifted his hand and showed off his index and middle finger linked together. “I’m her bestie. She tells me everything.”

Considering the man on the stool, Callum was quiet. How much had Vivian told him?

“She told me you’re not rejecting her, but you want to get to know her before imprinting. If that’s true, are you planning on taking her with you? And when?”

“I–” Callum paused. “I don’t know.”

Elliot and Rafe exchanged a glance. “You’re going to leave her here?”

“No. No!” He shook his head. “I’m going to take her with me. But I—we—haven’t talked about it yet. I don’t know what she wants. This is what I mean by I want to get to know her. It’s not as simple as grab her and go.”
