“Wow. Why that?”

Vivian shrugged. “My mom is expected to run most of the pack events, especially ever since Thatcher’s mate died. But she kind of hates it. I love it though. Putting it all together, making it bigger and better each year.”

“What kind of events?”

“Well, most recently, it was the BBQ Thatcher throws every year to welcome alphas and betas from across the globe.”

“Everyone was there. It was a huge event,” Callum said, his voice beaming with pride.

“Callum said that once we’re mated, I can find an event planning course to enroll in.”

“Definitely!” Fredrica agreed.

“Do you have a resume?” Maddox asked.

“No.”

“I could help you with that,” Callum supplied. “What are you thinking, Maddox?”

The big guy shrugged. “Our event producer might be looking for a new assistant.”

“Seriously?” Vivian sat forward. “That would be amazing!”

Maddox smiled. “I’ll see what I can do.”

They continued to chat, and eventually Drew and Alyssa joined them again, albeit slightly disheveled.

Forty minutes later, after Fredrica had made them try almost all the filters, Vivian announced she should head home. They said their goodbyes and hung up.

“I really like them. They’re great. I can’t wait to meet them in person.”

Callum kissed her forehead. “They’re going to love you. I’ll walk you home.”

“No.” She stopped him from getting up. Despite their deepening connection, she wasn’t ready to let anyone know about them. Benjamin was enough of a risk. If Callum walked her home and anyone saw them together, word would travel fast.

“I don’t like you walking around alone at night.”

Vivian smiled. “I’ll be fine.”

“But–”

“She’ll be fine,” Elliot insisted. “She’s Norman’s daughter. No one will touch her because if they do, they’ll have to deal with Norman and Thatcher.”

“Believe it or not, there are some perks to being Norman’s daughter.”

“Not very many,” Elliot interjected.

True. Vivian shrugged. Leaning over, she pressed a kiss to Callum’s lips. “I’ll see you tomorrow?”

“Of course.”

Gentleman that he was, Callum walked her down the lane before leaving her to finish the walk to town on her own. She’d have to talk to Callum about getting a driver’s license. She’d never driven before, but it seemed like now was the best time to learn new things and expand her knowledge.

Once she made it to town, she stopped at a cafe for a honey citrus tea and continued on her way.

Benjamin stepped out from a restaurant, and upon seeing her, he paused.

Vivian stopped, locked in his gaze. Taking a breath, she looked away and continued on her way.
