“Have any of you looked outside?”

“No. Why?” He heads for the window and immediately says, “Holy shit.”

“What?” Alex asks, following him.

I pad halfway down the stairs towards them, looking out the same window as the guys.

“Shit, the kids,” Nate says, turning to look at me.

I shake my phone at him. “That’s the reason I came up here. I planned to ask Claire if she could drop the kids off at your parents’ for the night.”

“Oh, you had plans,” Nate says, smirking at me.

“Maybe I did. Why don’t the three of you come up here while I call her and figure out where we go from here?”

“Up there?” Alex asks, eager but unsure.

I nod. “Yeah. We’ll be much more comfortable.”

“Yes, ma’am,” he replies.

Chapter 11

go for the gold

Alex

Standing in Nate and Mel’s bedroom, the thought crosses my mind that this isn’t the first time I’ve been up here. But it sure as hell is the first time I’ve ever been up here with plans.

And it’s definitely the first time I’ve been up here with my husband in only a long-sleeve thermal and his boxers. Not to mention Nate’s impressive cock barely flagging after climbing the stairs.

“You know… Nate’s not the only one with sex dreams,” I say quietly so that only Mel can hear me.

She just got off the phone with the babysitter who informed her the boys are perfectly fine to stay there until the roads are safe. She drops her phone on the dresser and brings her gaze to mine.

“Alex, how long have you felt this way?” she whispers.

“I think I’ve been falling for you since we met, but a few years ago, things shifted a bit. Do you remember the black tie party for the University’s fundraiser?”

“Of course,” she answers, taking my hand. “But Alex, that was nearly five years ago.”

I stare down at her smooth skin as I lace my thick, blunt-tipped fingers with her delicate, purple-tipped ones. “It was.”

“What was it about that night?”

“God, you were… fucking exquisite in that gown. I hated Nate that night. No offense,” I say in his direction.

“None taken,” he answers, his arms folded over his broad chest. “She looked good enough to eat that night. I’m sure I did just that.”

Wyatt held his hand up for a high-five, and I shook my head at them. Squeezing Mel’s hand, I stepped an inch closer. “I remember thinking that night that I loved you the same way I love Wy, and I was helpless against it but had no clue what to do about it.”

“Babe,” Wyatt whispers, closing the few feet of distance between us. “I just thought it was sexual. Physical. Why didn’t you tell me?”

I lean into the hand he rests on my cheek. “I didn’t want you to feel slighted. I didn’t know if you’d be angry that I even entertained the thought of feeling as strongly for her as I do for you. I love you. You are my soulmate. But don’t you think it might be possible to love more than one person this way?”

Nate wraps his arms around Mel and pulls her back into his chest as my husband drops a sweet kiss on my lips. Neither move feels territorial or protective. They feel supportive. It’s overwhelming to say the least. But in a really exciting way.

Wyatt kisses me again and says, “I’m not upset. Not even a little. It’s Nate and Mel. If it were some random person from a kink resort like where these two freaks went?—”
