And damn, what a scene it is to witness.

I sit there, mesmerized. Watching them together has my whole body prickling with interest.

I’m leaning forward in my seat, watching the most beautiful women I’ve ever seen get flogged by a perfectly toned man with skin that glows with a godly light. The call where I first saw them did their beauty a disservice. They look exquisite together up on the platform.

She’s handcuffed to the St. Andrew’s cross with her legs spread wide, his body casting a slight shadow over her face as he towers over her, even in her platform heels. Then there’s him. He’s standing slightly to the side of her, rubbing soft circles into her reddened ass as he tilts her face up to meet his own gaze.

The man leans in to whisper something in her ear and a pang of longing shoots through my chest at the tenderness which he bestows upon her. The woman melts into him, completely trusting of her partner, and my longing transforms into a green monster at the sight of the two.

“They’re beautiful together, aren’t they?” Selene’s musical voice whispers from behind me.

I jump and face her.

“Alvie and Bex. They’re gorgeous together,” she says. Gliding around the edge of the couch, Selene comes to sit next to me. “Alvie is good with a flogger in his hand, but you should see him with a length of rope. He’s an expert roper. Literally.” She giggles to herself. “He’s both a kinkster and a cowboy. His specialties are cow hide and rope, in both areas of his life.”

I turn back to the couple, watching as the man, Alvie, helps the woman down off the cross.

“You look like you’d like to try,” Selene says, bumping into me slightly with her shoulder. “What would it take to get you up on the cross?”

I look over at Selene, who has a mischievous look to her now.

“Selene. You know I could never,” I whisper.

“You absolutely could.” She nudges me again. “You just have to say yes.”

I can’t ignore the curiosity that sparks in my chest when I look at the cross.

“I couldn’t,” I whisper. “I can’t.”

With the woman is free from the cross, the man stands before her, rubbing her wrists. He speaks in a low, indecipherable tone before leading her to a chair nearby, settling her in and handing her a bottle of water.

Then the man turns to the room. “Would anyone like to try?”

“She would!” Selene calls out.

I look at her, bewildered. “Selene!” I hiss.

“What?” she says incredulously. “You do! Alvie, she wants to try.”

The man looks at me with a raised eyebrow. “I need to hear that directly from her, Selene.”

“Oh. Naomi, meet Alvie. Alvie, this is my best friend, Naomi.” Selene bounces back and forth between us, but my gaze never leaves his emerald eyes.

There’s something about him that makes me want to trust him, to abandon the safety of what I know and try something new. To take a risk.

The way he’s looking at me, studying me, is like he’s trying to catalogue every minute detail of my face and body. His eyes flick around, taking me in, looking for a lie.

“Nice to meet you, Naomi.” The way he says my name has a shiver rolling down my spine and my chest tightening.

“Hi,” I breathe out.

“Have you ever topped or bottomed for this type of play before?” he asks all businesslike.

“No,” I gasp out. “Never.”

“Would you like to?”

“Get up on the cross?”
