Now, Naomi calls to me in a similar way.

Being in the same room with both my husband and the curvy blonde who’s captured my attention is like being drawn to twin suns. I already know I’m going to get burned up in their orbit. I’m drawn to her, my heart skipping in my chest, eager to get back to her.

Turning away from Alvie, I look over to the couch where the woman, Naomi, is leaning with her head propped up on Selene’s shoulder, who’s petting her hair with a tenderness that makes my heart ache for that same softness.

I grab a water bottle from the ice chest next to Alvie’s table of tools and strut over to where the pair are cuddled on the couch. Lowering myself next to them, on the other side of Naomi from Selene, I take in the gorgeous woman.

She’s younger than I am, with a baby face that makes me want to cradle her in my arms and protect her from the world. Her straight blonde hair falls around her angelic face, framing doe eyes that match her blue bandage dress and puffy lips that beg to be kissed. Little bundles of flowers are painted into the skin along her collarbones, and as I look down her body, there are other small marks along her wrists, hands, and ankles.

I scooch closer to her, pressing my body toward her own full hips so we’re nearly touching.

“How are you doing?” I ask her, opening the water bottle cap and passing it over.

“Hmm?” Naomi lifts her head from where it lies on Selene’s shoulder.

“How are you feeling?” I repeat with a grin on my face.

She takes a breath before replying in a soft voice, “Oh. Good. I feel really good.”

After her scene with Alvie, I’m not surprised to see that she’s floating in her own world. A good scene can give you a high that either feels like heaven or will drop you in hell. I’m glad she’s having an experience on the good end of the spectrum.

She’s calmed down since her scene and her pulse is no longer thrumming like a hummingbird, but she’s still clearly not fully back to herself. I’m close enough to see the sheen of sweat on her skin, and I hold back the urge to lean in and lick up her cheek. I want to taste her desperately. I want to know what it’s like to have our bodies connect and our breath mingle. I want to have her under me, begging for my touch as Alvie watches on.

Her energy calls to me, and I can sense by the way that she’s now leaning away from Selene and into my own body that mine calls to her as well.

“That was your first time, right?” She nods sleepily. “You did really well. Alvie doesn’t normally test people so much on their first go, but you took everything so beautifully.”

Naomi turns to me with a beaming smile, which I return.

Her innocence is adorable. I want to wrap her up and hold her tight, then unfold her on my bed and devour her bite by bite, scream by scream.

“This is your first time at a club too, right?” I take a risk and slide my hand onto her thigh.

Nature may call people together, but the threat of rejection is ever present. Every person gets to make their own decisions about their time and energy, and I desperately hope that she chooses to give me some of hers in return, chooses me.

Naomi glances down to where my hand now rests, but when she looks up, the rejection I was afraid of isn’t there.

“Yeah.” She breathes out. “I’ve heard plenty of stories about the club and always wanted to come, but never made it down here. School has just kept me too busy. But I’m glad Selene gave me a reason to come.”

“What about Selene?” the woman in question pipes up, leaning around Naomi so I can see her clearly.

“You’ve always wanted me to come down to visit.” Naomi’s hand slides down her thigh, closer to my own, as she turns to face her friend.

Taking a risk, I reach out and take her hand, hoping desperately that she won’t pull away, and my shoulders relax when her fingers twine between my own in return.

Her open affection makes my heart warm and my smile grow.

Selene scoffs. “Yeah, but you always had school or an internship or something. Honestly, I’m surprised that you came this time.”

“I wouldn’t have missed this for the world, Selene,” Naomi says, her head going back to Selene’s shoulder to rest.

“What do you think so far?” I ask.

“Great. It’s been great. I’m really enjoying myself so far. Everything is so . . .”

Her brain is clearly offline, and I can’t help the chuckle that comes out at her bumbling.

“I’ve been telling you!” Selene says with a little backhanded slap to Naomi’s side.
