“Helping me? She just put this year’s fundraiser over the goal line, and we have almost a month to go!” Gia turned to his mother. “Hi, Samantha. It’s good to see you!”

“Hello, dear. Lovely to see you. I came to cuddle with my darling boy. May I?”

Gia stood and lifted their two-month-old from the pack strapped to her chest, kissed little Anthony’s head, then handed him to Samantha, who had become immensely maternal since her grandson’s birth.

In truth, the infant bought him great joy and pride. He’d been happy to settle into a new life with Gia, but once they’d realized she was pregnant, they’d been thrilled. And having such a happy, healthy little boy? Beyond his wildest dreams.

The last year had been idyllic, in fact. He couldn’t wait for more years and more children with Gia.

“Here he is.” His wife smiled. “Anthony woke up from a nap twenty minutes ago. He’s been fed and changed and loved on.”

“Well, he can never have too much love,” Samantha cooed at the infant. “Can you, handsome boy?”

Jason leaned closer to his wife. “I swear, since she’s become a grandma, I don’t even recognize her.”

Samantha gave him a good-natured huff. “I heard that.”

“Be nice,” Gia scolded before she hugged her mother-in-law.

“We’ll be in the nursery,” Samantha said. “What time are you two leaving for your anniversary date?”

“Seven thirty,” Jason supplied.

“Have fun. Off with you.”

Gia frowned. “I didn’t know you were coming. I asked my mom?—”

“Oh, I know. I hope she doesn’t mind sharing.”

“Of course she doesn’t.”

Thankfully, Samantha and Silvana had found a good footing. They came from different worlds, but they’d come together out of love for family.

“And since Anthony is such a hefty eater, there’s plenty of the little chunky monkey to go around,” Jason quipped.

Everyone laughed, then Samantha carried their baby boy to his room to play with all his toys, cooing at him with every step.

“She really is like a different woman,” he remarked.

Gia nodded. “In a good way.”

“The best. Is Mila coming tonight, too? Last I heard, she was bringing the kids for a play date.”

Gia didn’t just smile; she beamed. “She doesn’t know it yet, but she’s getting engaged tonight! I helped pick her engagement ring this afternoon over FaceTime.”

Jason had wondered when Bruce would make their coupledom official. The widower of a female officer killed in the line of duty three years ago, he and Mila had a lot in common, and his daughter got along amazingly with her kids. “I’m really happy for them.”

“Me, too. Looks like there will be a family wedding in the near future.”

“We’ll be there. So…are you heading up to get ready for dinner, baby? Or do we have time for something…more first?”

Gia’s assistants pretended not to hear, and his wife rolled her eyes before she whispered, “Just for that, I should make you wait.”

“But you won’t…”

She laughed as she slid her hand over his bulge behind the cover of the giant monitor on her desk. “Are you sure?”

“I am.” Jason glanced at the time on her screen, then led her out of the room, whispering, “On our bed, naked with legs spread in five minutes. Think of the ways I’m going to fuck you, Mrs. Denning. I want that pussy wet and on display when I get there.”
