I head into the living room a little after five, ready to text Spencer and ask where the hell he went to bury E.A.’s body because it’s taking way too damn long, when both of my Alpha’s step out of the hallway and into the living room.

“No one’s dead!” I blurt, as I reach up and take my wireless over-ear headphones off.

E.A. raises an eyebrow at me. “I’m glad?”

“He means we didn’t kill each other,” Spencer mumbles.

“Oh. Right.” E.A. shrugs. “I’m kind of surprised at that, too.”

“Where were … you got Chinese takeout!”

Spencer laughs as I jump over the back of the couch and snatch the bag out of his hand.

“Watch out for the hangry Omega,” he jokes. “He might take your hand off.”

“Not funny,” I tell him, inhaling the food smells deeply and the looking at E.A. “This isn’t making you feel sick?”

E.A. shrugs. “Maybe I’m getting used to it.”

“Or maybe you’ve been replaced by a pod person. Wait! What time did you wake up today?”

“I don’t know,” he says. “Eleven?”

“Relaxation mode. That’s what it is. So, are you eating some of this, or …”

“I’ll make my own,” E.A. says. “Make sure you leave some for Leanne and Toshi.”

I take the bag over to the coffee table, excited to be spreading it all out over that large surface.

E.A. usually can’t stand the smell of takeout. That’s why normally eat in the office, and he eats up here. It’s awesome to be able to eat together. Doesn’t happen often enough in my opinion.

The sound of E.A.’s bedroom door creaking open makes me straighten and turn.

Toshi comes out, fully dressed and smelling like he’s fresh out of the shower and doused in E.A.’s regular scent. He smiles at us as he closes the door.

“Hey, is that dinner, by any chance?”

“Of course,” I tell him, suddenly more interested in snuggling up close to smell him.

It’s kind of hot that he smells like E.A., though my more serious Alpha probably won’t like it.

That fancy ass shower gel he loves so much is super expensive.

I don’t think it always was. It’s not like E.A.’s some kind of secret millionaire.

He just so happened to be partial to a brand that turned into a trending product overnight.

The price skyrocketed, and honestly, I can’t say I don’t know why. There’s something so fresh and manly and addictive about that damn scent.

“Sit next to me,” I tell Toshi as he comes over.

“I’ll grab plates and whatever,” Spencer says, closing the hallway door after hanging up his jacket and taking off his boots.

“There’s no napkins,” I call over my shoulder. “We’ll need a bunch for the ribs.”

Toshi gets to my side and looks everything over. “I had no idea I was starving until I smelled this.”

“I feel kind of the same way,” I murmur, breathing him in. “We all need to be using that shower gel.”
