“And Harlan, and whoever his friend was?”

“Victor sent me this picture after he dropped them off.”

He shows me the image of the two of them bound together outside the police station, with a note pinned to Harlan’s chest. The note explains why they’re there and who the cops can call to get the evidence. If for some reason they don’t call, and they set those assholes free, well, we have cameras on them and as soon as the public find out, everyone will be pissed off at the cops and Harlan.

If our bad guys are not dead or locked up within twenty-four-hours of that, well, we’ll just have to call Victor and have his team round those two up all over again.

“Kind of feels a little bit like we’re playing with fire,” I admit.

“Are you worried about that?” E.A. asks.

“Nah. I’m more worried about the victims. Okay, I’m making the call.”

E.A. dug out his office cell phone earlier and gave me it. I have a smart phone now, and it’s perfect for what I need to do right now.

I tell the reporter I’m Leanne Leto, and I have a story, a big one.

Then, I forward her the clip of Harlan threatening me, the audio recording of his mother being a killer, and some pictures of the evidence that relate to a few of the women who were found alive. Oh, and I throw in the picture of our bad guys bound and gagged on the doorstep of the police station.

She asks if I’ll consent to an interview. I say yes.

We arrange for her to come to the agency in an hour to set up before we need to go live.

It’s strange to know I’m about to be in the news again, but this time it’s for the right reasons.

The world’s about to know about Harlan West and his clients.

It’ll ruin their lives and turn the public against them.

That’s the least they deserve.

Prison sentences shouldn’t be too far behind.

Chapter One Hundred Thirteen

Leanne

The camera, lights and makeup make me feel hot and itchy, but my mates and Secret are cheering on me from the sidelines in the entrance hall of Spencer and Shultz and that’s more than enough to keep me standing tall while we get ready to shoot the live interview.

“You’re so damn brave,” Rachel tells me, shaking her head. “I can’t even imagine what you went through with Frank Palmer, and now this. Harlan West. What a fucking creep.”

“Well, we’re hoping the media coverage forces justice,” I admit. “Because these guys are way too rich and powerful.”

She nods. “They get away with so much. I couldn’t believe it when Warren Corvina got sent to jail. Here’s hoping the tide is turning. Okay. Get ready. We go out in a couple minutes.”

I take in a slow, deep breath. I look at my mates and my daughter and I smile.

Rachel starts talking into the camera.

“I’m standing here tonight with Leanne Leto, the final surviving victim of the infamous serial killer Frank Palmer. As a part of the Spencer and Shultz Detective Agency right here in Cressidan City, she has an incredible, exclusive, breaking story to tell us right here and now. Harlan West, owner of Anchor West, has spent the last twenty years trafficking women to rich clients. We have the proof, and Leanne has the details.”

She turns to me. “What can you tell us about this discovery, Leanne?”

“I can tell you there are fifty-two women being cared for in a medical facility after being removed from the houses of thirty-four rich and influential Alpha males. I can tell you these aren’t the only women who were sold to these men, and I can tell you Harlan West murdered Edeline Keyes personally, fifteen years ago, because his father was in love with her when he was a child, and his mother killed his father because of it.”

“Can you tell us more about this list of men?”

I nod. “I can give you every name we uncovered.”
