“You’re not a stranger,” Spencer tells me.

“I’m not?” I ask, starting to feel a little light-headed.

“You’re our mate,” Echo whispers.

Spencer’s nodding when I glance back at him.

I can tell by the way he’s looking at me that he means it.

Echo, too. They think I’m fated to them?

I look at Toshi. He seems just as shocked as I feel.

It’s possible he didn’t know, like I didn’t.

We’re Betas. It’s almost unheard of for people like us to have true mates.

Alphas and Omegas, sure. They have different abilities. They’re more instinctive and empathetic than the average Beta. They see things in ways that we don’t.

If Echo feels I’m his mate, then there’s a damn good chance that it’s true.

My heart starts to race in my chest.

“Your mate?” I ask, wondering if that’s why I’m so attracted to them all.

Echo nods. “Mine. Spencer’s. E.A.’s.”

He looks at Toshi, and back at me. “Even Toshi’s.”

“Even?” Toshi sputters, as if he’s offended.

“Clearly, you didn’t know,” Echo explains. “I didn’t want to shock you.”

“I’m not shocked,” he says, giving me a smile that reminds me of the guy I met yesterday morning. “I felt something when I saw you in that coffee shop. I didn’t know it was a mating bond, because I wouldn’t know what one of those feels like.”

He casts a pointed glance at Echo, who doesn’t seem to notice.

Oh, hell. He’s got feelings for Echo, and I don’t think Echo realizes.

Even Omegas can have blind spots, I guess.

“What do we do about this?” I ask him.

“We take things slow,” he tells me.

“Are all of you already together?”

“I’m mated to Spencer and E.A.” Echo tells me, pushing back the hair that falls at either side of his neck to reveal faded mating marks, high up in his skin. “We’ve been together for just over a decade. Toshi’s our pack brother. We hired him a year ago and he took Spencer’s mark a couple of months later.”

Clearly Toshi wants something a little more, at least from him, but it’s not my place to tell them that.

“How do you feel about this?” Echo asks.

“I’m attracted, for sure,” I admit. “Does E.A. know?”

“He knew before we did,” Spencer tells me, just as the other Alpha walks back into the room.

“Who knew what?” E.A. asks, frowning at the food that’s still on the desk.
