“I think I should, too,” I agree, bringing my right hand up to stroke my fingers down the soft skin of her throat. “Should we go upstairs?”
“All of us should,” Spencer growls, coming up behind Leanne and wrapping his arms around her middle. She lets out a gasp as he wrenches her away from me, spinning her around and depositing her into Echo’s waiting arms. He moves closer and I inch back, until I hit the solid wood of the door.
The Alpha who marked me to make me a part of this pack gazes down at me with impassioned fury in his bright blue eyes. He raises my arms and pins them above my head, leaning in close and growling at my ear. “We’ve waited thirty-six months for you to be ready for us, and you’ve never once tried to join in when we’ve tried to entice you. One little move was all we were waiting for. A single touch, an uttered word. Anything, Toshi. You never gave us a single sign that you wanted us.”
“You were trying to entice me?” I whisper, thinking back to the way they’d touch each other in front of me, the way they’d start something so suddenly that it felt almost like they were burning for each other’s touch at every moment of every day.
“You think I would have walked around naked if I wasn’t?” he asks, giving me a familiarly wry smile.
He moves in close, until his lips are close enough to brush mine, his breath making them quiver.
“Tell me you want this,” he murmurs.
“I want this,” I whisper.
His lips land on mine in a crushing kiss that knocks the air from my lungs. I gasp as his tongue invades my mouth, tasting and swirling around mine. One hand drops from my pinned wrists, and I feel my cock stretching out my pants as I imagine where it might go.
He touches my throat, fingering the mark he made there a year ago while his lips bruise mine.
He breaks the kiss, and his gaze is searing as he looks back at me.
“You can have my mating mark now, or while Echo claims you, but it has to be tonight, Toshi. You’ve made us wait long enough.”
“I didn’t mean to,” I murmur. “Tonight sounds good. What about …”
“E.A. will get his chance tomorrow, maybe, if we let him.”
“Leanne?” I ask, glancing past him to see Leanne making out with Echo.
“Leanne is ours, too, but she hasn’t spent months watching Echo and I make each other come, resisting the urge to join in. She can do what she wants, but I’m marking and claiming you before another day can pass while you remain an unclaimed true mate.”
Fuck. I wish I’d known they were doing all that to try and encourage me to ask for what I wanted.
A sliver of doubt rises in me, but I push it down when I look back in Spencer’s eyes.
He means every word. He’s always wanted this.
I’m the one who’s been messing it up.
I let doubt make me afraid.
