Raven: I need to talk.

I stare at the incoming message notification that matches the one I sent my phone, but what catches my eye the most, is the name it’s coming in as. Raven. The same thing my stalker calls me.

What. The. Everloving. Fuck!

In a rush, I click out of the thread with my phone, and stare at the app not seeing the incoming message. I swipe down the menu to see all notifications and click on it directly from the screen, realizing it’s a completely different app altogether.

The screen fills with messages. I scroll through the history of everything Ravenmaster and I talked about. This doesn’t make sense. I know for a fact Vander isn’t my stalker. How would he have sent us help when he was bleeding out from the gunshot? He couldn’t. Which means someone else is Ravenmaster. But then… how does he have access to these texts?

Anger pulses through me and as the seconds tick by, it continues to grow, heating my blood until I’m at a boiling point. My fingers twitch, craving the hard press of my gun filling my palm.

Vander has been lying to me, more than I ever could have imagined.

The door slams against the wall when I rip it open, and four sets of eyes are on me once again. From one glance at the fury in my gaze, they all stand up. I hope they can sense the violence choking the air, because in a moment, someone will be choking for real.

“What the fuck is this?” I interrogate Vander, holding up his phone so there’s no mistaking what I’m talking about.

His face goes blank, not a single emotion crossing his features, and that tells me more than whatever is fixing to come out of his mouth. “My phone,” he answers, but I can tell he knows exactly what I discovered.

Another fucking lie. Will they ever end?

A frigid calm comes over me. I didn’t realize how much I valued someone telling me the truth until this very moment. Jasper’s constant demand for it makes so much sense now. I prowl toward Vander with slow, precise steps. My gaze staring him down, and if looks could kill, he’d be on the ground needing life support.

“Your phone,” I repeat. “Thank you for giving me the most obvious answer, Vander. That’ll really keep me from wanting to kill you.”

His hands raise in that patronizing position telling me to calm down. I don’t want to calm down. I want to not be lied to.

“Reginetta, why don’t you tell me what you want to know, and I can better explain it,“ he tries, seeing how much he’s irritating me.

“You know exactly what I’ve found, now tell me what it means,” I demand, stepping even closer.

He backs up a few steps. I can’t even revel in the power I have right now at making my stoic bodyguard fear me. I’m too fucking mad to enjoy it, which pisses me off even more. His hand runs through his hair and his mouth opens, but nothing comes out.

“Fine. I’ll ask you once, and I swear to god, if you don’t tell me the truth, I will fucking shoot you. Do you know who my stalker is?” Rage burns through me. I’ve never felt so betrayed. All the times he talked about how I shouldn’t trust my stalker… how my stalker could always find his way past security to get to me. Did Vander simply let him pass? Did he help him?

Cole steps forward and reaches for me, but I hold up my hand keeping him from wrapping his arms around me. I really wish we weren’t on a fucking plane right now. There’s no space to move around. “Countess, what are you talking about? Maybe I can help with his phone?”

Jasper sighs, his hands sliding into his pockets. And suddenly, I’m questioning if he and Cole know too. I narrow my gaze at Cole, making him flinch. “Do you know who my stalker is?”

“Luv, come on now. I’ve been supportive of you, tried to help you keep him out of your phone, gave you a safe place to stay. Why would I know who he is?” He steps closer, putting a finger under my chin as his vanilla and coffee scent surrounds me. “I know how much you enjoy your stalker, do you really think I’d keep him from you?”

The oddest sensation of dropping quickly is centered in my stomach. Is Cole lying to me too? I’ve always prided myself in knowing whenever someone is lying, but Cole is more like me than anyone else I’ve ever met. Maybe he’s even better than me at faking emotions. Maybe he’s so good, he’s been fooling me.

My eyes flash to Jasper. “Do you know who my stalker is?” His head is turned down, but when he senses my attention on him, he peeks through his lashes to set his gaze on me. His eyes trail over me like a hot caress. The way he smirks adds a hint of darkness to his features that would have me wanting to fuck him right now if I wasn’t so infuriated.

“Yeah, Little Bird, I do.” His confident voice sounds throughout the plane, projecting much louder than I’m sure he actually meant. It almost has me stumbling back from him, because as much as I knew he would be the only one to tell me the truth, I certainly wasn’t expecting that answer.

“What?” It’s possible I misheard him…

“You heard me perfectly,” he answers, seeing the disbelief within my eyes.

“Does Vander know?” I question, wanting to see how far he’s willing to go with the answers.

“Yes,” he replies simply, leaning against the side of a captain’s chair.

“Cole?” His head is already nodding before I finish speaking the man’s name. “Grayson?” Shit do they all know?

“He doesn’t know,” Jasper confirms. Thank fuck. I’m not sure how I would have reacted to Grayson keeping something from me. Not after everything we’ve been through.
