“Then, who the fuck is Ravenmaster?” I demand, frustrated with how they could have been keeping it from me. Especially after they made such a big deal about it when Ravenmaster made a show of messaging them on the T.V.

“Now that, I won’t tell you. Sorry, Little Bird,” he answers, flashing his dimple with a not so apologetic shrug.

Pinching the bridge of my nose, I let out a sigh, wishing the tension building in my head would go away. “How long have you known?”

“Unfortunately, I think these two will kill me if I decide to answer any more of your questions—“ I cut him off with a raised hand.

“Fuck all of you, and not in the way you enjoy,” I growl, pointing to the three men who have been lying to me. Sure Jasper decided to tell the truth about them knowing who my stalker is, but he’s purposely keeping more information from me. “You’ve all given me shit about trusting my stalker, when you know who he is. I don’t understand why the fuck you wouldn’t tell me his identity unless… unless it’s one of you!”

I’ve had thoughts that it could be each of them at different times, but have always had a reason to rule them out. I still have evidence that rules them all out. But the realization hits me like a ton of bricks. I don’t understand why they would team up and protect the information. Especially if it means I would be dating one less man.

Before I can even contemplate what to do next, a loud banging sounds at the plane door.

Chapter 9

Remi

The guys glance between themselves, but it’s Vander who speaks up. “It’s probably your father’s men wondering why we haven’t come out yet. I’m sure they’ve been watching the jet for some time now.”

“Don’t call him that!” I object vehemently.

“Reginetta, it’s who he is. I know I sprung this on you, and you haven’t had time to get used to the idea. But he is your padre, and he won’t tolerate any kind of disrespect. Please put aside how you feel about me keeping secrets from you, and go into this like it’s one of your business meetings,“ Vander pleads with me.

As much as my anger drives me to argue with him, he does make sense. If I go into this acting like it’s a business meeting, then I’ll have an easier time keeping the sudden appearance of these disgusting emotions out of it. “Fine.”

“There’s one other thing. With you wanting to start a new life, it’s probably a good idea if you use a different name from now on,” Vander adds, while Cole and Jasper nod their heads in agreement.

Changing my name is something Grayson and I talked about. We figured the story of our disappearance would probably show up on the news—for weeks if not months—as a search went on until we were presumed dead. So I already have my answer ready to go. “I’ll go by Raven. It seems to fit the new me better than Remington ever did. I suppose it was never my true name anyways.”

The three members of team liar smile at my choice, and it reminds me how angry I am. “I still don’t know if I’ll ever be able to stop calling you Remi,” Grayson teases, something he said before when we talked about changing our names. And to be honest, he’ll always be my Grayson, so I can’t fault him for using it.

At the moment he’s the only one who I’m not angry with, so I walk up to him and wrap my arms behind his head, pressing a quick kiss to his cheek before nuzzling into his neck. “Thanks for being the only one I can trust right now,” I whisper, for his ears only.

His arms band around my waist pressing me tightly against him. Grayson isn’t dumb, he can see how upset I am with the others, and he lets out a soft, breathy sigh of relief that he isn’t being included with them. “I’ve learned not to hide anything from you,” he whispers back.

Vander heads for the door, but I call out to him, and he halts mid-step, turning to give me his full attention. “Don’t think this conversation is over.” He swallows before tilting his head in acceptance, a deep sadness washing over him. He strides for the door once more, going through the motions of opening it, but before he pushes the door out, he puts on a mask of hardness.

It’s been so long since I’ve felt the need to wear one of my masks, and now that I’ve stepped into a new life, I’ll only have to do something like that when I want to get close to one of my kills. I don’t have to fake who I am for anyone ever again.

I’m Raven, motherfuckers. My darkness is here to stay. I’ve embraced it. There’s no me without it anymore.

Straightening my spine, I flash a narrowed glare at the other two members of the liars club, and strut for the exit of the plane. I don’t trust Vander anymore. I’m taking charge of my life and making sure I don’t get left out of anything that’s said.

When I’m in view of the open door, I find that a small stairway has been set up to lead to the ground, and we’ve been taxied into a hanger. The luxury of being rich and having a private jet.

Vander is nearing the bottom of the stairs where two men in suits are standing with arms crossed. “Vander,” one of them greets. “Why haven’t you made your way to the Don yet? He isn’t happy he had to send us here to collect you.”

Before Vander can respond, I speak up. “Because my schedule doesn’t revolve around anyone else. No one summons the Raven. The Raven comes when they’re ready. Lucky for you, we were about to leave.” My former guard flashes me a glare telling me to shut up.

Ignoring him, I turn around to find Grayson right behind me. Just the man I was wanting. “Do you still have my gun?”

“Of course, schmoopy,” he replies, and the use of another stupid nickname helps lighten my shit mood. “I was waiting for you to ask. And maybe a small part was keeping it hostage until I wasn’t worried you’d use it on one of us.”

Well, shit. I can’t blame him for that. “I wouldn’t be so sure they’re out of the woods yet. I fucking hate being lied to.”

Jasper overhears and reaches around Grayson to grasp my upper arm. He yanks me into the plane and cages me against the cockpit door. “I’ve never fucking lied to you, Little Bird. There’s a huge difference between lying and not offering information without being asked. I told you the truth when you asked me a direct question.” He leans in so close his lips brush against mine. “Don’t punish me for refusing to tell you everything at once.”

His lips slam against mine, not giving me the chance to say no. I refuse to move my lips, even when his hands grip the sides of my face, tilting it to the side. He sucks my bottom lip in his mouth before flicking it with his tongue, trying to get me to kiss him back. The longer I stand immobile, pushing against his chest to no avail, the more frustrated he gets. He bites my lip and pulls my hair, but I won’t be swayed.
