“Not about that,” I rasp out, my tone verging on desperate.

“Then what are you sorry about?” she says as she looks at me with confusion.

“I didn’t mean it when I said it shouldn’t have happened. I don’t regret being with you. I was being an asshole,” I tell her. I am hoping that she can see from my face how much I truly mean what I am saying.

She makes a “go on” gesture, and I can’t help but chuckle. I already feel relieved because I can see her expression thawing.

“The truth is that I don’t give a fuck about what your family thinks because I had you and I’m already hooked. I don’t want to stop myself from wanting you. You were right. We both were wanting this for a long time, and I think that we need to see where this takes us,” I say as I slowly step closer to her.

She looks hopeful but gives me a hesitant smile. “And what about my brothers?”

I shake my head. “They might hate me, but I think that you are worth the risk. I have been denying this for far too long.”

A few emotions cross her face, but determination wins out as she blows out a breath.

“Okay, but you can’t go running scared on me. They won’t take this well at all,” she says, and I nod my head in agreement.

When I am finally close enough to her, I pull her into my arms and softly kiss her.

I pour everything I’m feeling into the kiss.

Fear, hope, excitement.

I’ll be ready to face whatever trouble we come across.

As much as the Kingsleys mean to me, they are the only family I have. It would suck to lose them, but I would hate to lose her even more.

Aubrey Kingsley is worth it.

Chapter Six

Aubrey

I let out a sigh as I snuggle against Gabriel’s chest. The morning light is coming through the windows but, when I look at the clock, I see that it’s lunch time. I guess we slept longer than we meant to.

Yesterday, when Gabriel had decided he was all in, he meant it.

We spent most of the day in bed, only getting up to eat and have a shower before climbing back into bed. We had spent a few hours talking, and I told him about not wanting to go back to school and about me leaving my lying ex-boyfriend. To my surprise, he was completely supportive. I guess it would be time to tell my family what I really want to do with my life. He was also completely pissed on my behalf about my ex. I ended up turning off my phone when he texted again. I didn’t want any distractions. I had only just received a taste of Gabriel, and I didn’t want anything to ruin it.

The man is insatiable, I tell you. When we weren’t talking, we were touching every inch of each other’s bodies.

“Mmmm morning, baby,” I say as I snuggle closer to him, and he wraps his arm tighter around me in response.

My head is on his chest, taking in his warmth while I can hear his heart beating.

A throat clears from the other side of the room.

We both freeze.

Slowly, I lift my head. When I see every single one of my brothers standing by the door, I drag the blanket up to completely cover my body, only keeping my head in sight.

“What the fuck?” my brother Chase asks while looking at us with a mix of anger and disbelief.

“Get out!” Gabriel shouts at my brother, and they all narrow their eyes at his words.

“I think you better watch your tone; we just caught you in bed, naked, with our baby sister,” Dylan says.

“Can you guys just give us a minute to put something on?” Gabriel asks, sitting up but making sure that I’m still covered.
