“Oh, I know you will,” she says, smirking at me.
“Oh, do you now?” I ask, trying to sound as seductive as possible. Unfortunately, that plan fails as I feel like complete death.
“Oh, I do, but it will have to wait until later. Christina and I are going out today. Who knows. Maybe tonight will be your turn to take care of me,” she says while grinning at me.
“I’ll be here trying to recover. Maybe I’ll get your brothers over for a bit,” I say, though I would take care of her if she decided to let loose with her friend. Everyone needs that once in awhile.
“More shots?” she teases. I suppress a gag; I can’t think of tasting alcohol right now.
“Fuck no. Though it would be nice to get Chase back. I sure hope he feels like I do, or worse,” I tell her.
“I’m sure you will think of something,” she says with a laugh.
“Where are you girls headed?” I ask as I finally feel like I can eat without puking.
“We are going shopping since I need a dress for that charity function thing next weekend. Plus, the accessories to go with it,” she tells me.
“Use my card,” I remind her. I know she hasn’t been. I’ve seen the stuff she has added around the penthouse, but the card hasn’t been used. She had also put it back into my wallet and desk a few times. One of these days, I will get her used to using my money instead of her brothers’.
I know the money she has is from her brothers and they are family, but I still want to be the one supporting her and buying her things. Taking care of her is what I am supposed to be doing. I had always felt this way, but now I finally have an excuse to do so.
“Sure,” she says, but she looks away instantly so I know she is only saying that to make me happy.
“I mean it, Aubrey. I know you aren’t using the card I gave you,” I say with a finality in my tone.
“I don’t need your money,” she says with a huff of annoyance.
She gets up off the bed looking annoyed.
“I want you to use it. I want to provide for you,” I plead with her. Doesn’t she know how much I want to take care of her in any way I can?
“We only just started dating. I don’t want that kind of relationship with you. It makes me feel like I was only after your money,” she says softly.
I get up and pull her into my arms. “I know you aren’t like that, baby. Your brothers had to practically force you to use their money. You are my woman and I want to take care of you. Look at it this way, you are going to a charity function that I invited you too. It’s only right that I pay for your outfit.”
She seems to think over my words. “Alright. I guess I can agree with that.”
“Good. Have fun with your friend and I’ll see you tonight to make good on my promise,” I whisper into her ear. I hold back the smile knowing that I won this round. Hopefully she will make it easier in the future.
I love the fact that a shiver runs across her body.
Having this effect on her with words or small touches always amazes me.
She walks away with a small smile on her face.
Fuck, this day better be over fast.
Chapter Ten
Aubrey
I’m pretty much dragging my feet as I head out with Christina for the day. It’s not like I don’t want to spend time with my best friend, but I just really want to spend the day in bed with my man. Plus, we are going to spend hours shopping and that’s not my thing. I can spend a couple hours in the mall, but then I am done. Unless I am furniture shopping. I could do that all day everyday. I have much different feelings about clothing shopping, however.
“Oh, come on. You can part with Prince Charming for a few hours,” she says as we get into the elevator. She smirks at me because she knows I don’t want to leave my man.
“We were apart all day yesterday, if you remember,” I say, raising an eyebrow at her.
“You know what I mean. You have him when I’m gone. I’m leaving tomorrow. I feel like this weekend is going by too fast,” she says with a frown.
