Kalen, Stella, and my fucking parents walk into the room.

“I could say I’m fucking surprised, but I’m not in the fucking slightest,” I say with a cold laugh.

My father smirks. “You were always a smart boy. I was surprised you didn’t figure this one out,” he says with a tsk.

I grin at him coldly. “Your pathetic face hasn’t crossed my mind in years.”

That earns me a punch to the face. I end up biting my lip to spit out the blood that pools in my mouth, but that doesn’t take the smile off of my face.

I start to work on the rope around my wrists since my hands are tied behind my back.

“What I am curious about is how the four of you came across one another,” I ask, distracting them.

“That was all me. I knew you needed incentive if you were going to give us what we want,” my mother says before pulling out a knife.

She walks close to Aubrey to show me what she means. Kalen and Stella pale at the sight. Hmmm… I guess they didn’t know what kind of crazy ass people they tied themselves to.

“Whoa, I did not sign up for this,” Kalen says, throwing his hands in the air.

My father chuckles darkly. “What the fuck did you think we were going to do?”

“You said you would help me get an in with Gabe,” Kalen spits back angrily.

“I lied,” my father says and points a gun at him.

“What the fuck are you doing?” Kalen asks as he pales, and Stella whimpers.

“I just needed you stupid fucks to get them here. I have been watching my son for years, and I knew I couldn’t do it on my own,” my father says with an evil look in his eyes.

“What’s that supposed to mean?” Stella asks with her voice shaking.

“That means I waited for my time. I knew how to play this. I watched for the people who surrounded him and who would want to seek revenge. I knew if I dangled that in front of you two that I would finally get what I want,” my father says.

My mother pulls out a stack of papers.

“This is the part of my plan where you sign over your fortune to me,” my father says.

“Fuck that. I’m not doing shit,” I growl out.

My mother drops the papers on my lap before walking back over to Aubrey and placing the knife at her neck. Aubrey wakes up to this, and I know I will never get the panicked and terrified look in her eyes out of my head for as long as I live.

Kalen and Stella try to make a move towards the door, but my father doesn’t waste a moment in firing shots. The second I see my mother’s hand drop from shock, I take her down and grab the knife.

“Gabe, think about what you are doing. I’m your mother,” my mother says, trying to plead with me.

I chuckle. “You are nothing to me,” I say roughly.

“Do you really want to do that?” my father asks and, when I look back at him, he’s holding the gun to Aubrey’s head.

Aubrey

I have never been more terrified in my life. I thought the fire was the most terrifying thing I would have had to go through, but this definitely tops it.

Gabe’s father has a gun to my head as I look over at my man who has got a knife to his mother’s throat.

I work on the rope around my wrists and panic sets in while I free myself.

“Let my woman go,” Gabe roars out in rage.
