With a click of my tongue, I grab both drinks and fight the crowd once again. I don’t stop until I’m back in the garage, despite hearing Landon call my name.

Please stop following me.

Please don’t be there when I turn around.

Sure enough, he’s standing right there.

I sigh and focus on finding Maia. I scan the garage but she isn’t around. She told me she wouldn’t move.

“Looking for Maia?”

I don’t answer.

“I saw her inside earlier. Looked like she was arguing with some guy.”

Shit, I knew her plan would blow up in her face. I tried to tell her that making a guy jealous isn’t a good idea.

“I’ll take the drink you poured for her.”

I look him square in the eyes. “You absolutely repulse me.”

“Oh, shush. You enjoyed watching. Maybe next time it can be you sucking me off.” He winks and I hate the way it makes my damn knees buckle.

“No, sorry. I use teeth.”

“Oh, don’t worry. Jessica can teach you. She’s really good at it.”

“Ew.” I want to throw my drink in his face but he’s not worth the waste of alcohol.

Instead, I chug down both drinks as he watches in amazement. Then I toss both cups down and leave.

I walk a block away from the party and towards the beach. Pulling my phone from my pocket, I call Maia.

“Hey!” She yells into the phone, the party loud in the background. It sounds louder than when I was actually there.

“Hey, the crowd was too much for me. I’m taking a walk down by the beach.”

“Okay. I’m with Alex. Want us to meet you down there?”

“Nah, that’s okay. If you don’t mind, I think I’m going to take a walk and then head home.”

“You sure? We can leave now so you aren’t alone.”

“I’m good. I’ll text you when I’m home.”

“Okay, love you.”

“Love you.”

It’s dark, only the stars and the moonlight casting a glow on the beach. But there’s lots of people walking around, and not just college kids. A few families mixed in with couples or singles walking their dog. Way less than the party but enough to keep me company.

Walking the beach alone when it’s dark is beyond creepy. Seeing as I grew up only five minutes from the shore, Bella and I used to sneak out during the summer and walk the beach at night. Pretty much our only way of feeling the tiniest bit of freedom.

I slip off my shoes and dip my toes in the sand as I walk towards the water. As soon as it touches my skin, the cold seeps into my bones. I don’t go any further and instead walk along the edge, my feet eventually adjusting to the temperature.

An uneasy feeling settles in my stomach and my mind drifts back to what I saw earlier.

Landon standing there, his dick in another chick’s mouth, pleasure all over his face…
