I don’t respond. He didn’t even acknowledge what I said. He honestly thinks I wouldn’t not go. Such a cocky ass.

I toss my phone down and let out a little scream. Damn him. He gets on every single one of my nerves.

Both the ones that feel good and bad.

The worst part?

I know I’ll still go. Just to be on his arm for one night.

Chapter 5

Everleigh

“Wait, let me get this straight,” Lennox says over breakfast the next morning. “Landon asked you to go with him to a formal frat event and is offering to buy you everything you need?”

I grin. “Yep. Including hair and nails at the spa. Only reason why I said yes.”

“Holy shit, Ev! You lucky bitch.”

“You’re going shopping with me. We’re picking out the fanciest most expensive dress we can find and all the accessories to go with.”

“Including a sexy new bra and panties?” Len wiggles her eyebrows.

“Don’t make me throw my muffin at you.”

“Girl, just because you’re not planning, key word there, on getting down with him doesn’t mean you can’t flirt.”

I sip my coffee. “That is true…and he does kind of deserve it.”

“He more than deserves it. Does he hold back from flirting with you?”

“Ha, yeah right. I’ve never met a bigger flirt.”

“Exactly my point. So beat him at his own game. Fake date, fake flirts.”

“I like how you think. I should most definitely make him squirm.”

“That’s what I’m saying. Have some fun with him.”

“It’s just weird. It’s only Sunday and since Landon walked in our door late Friday night, I’ve seen him more than I have in months. He asks me out, I bump into him the next morning when I’m rushing to clinicals and he’s going surfing, and then last night…I caught him getting a blow job from some chick.”

Len coughs, a piece of muffin flying from her mouth. Her eyes grow wide and we both dissolve into a fit of giggles.

“Stop it. You did not.”

“I most certainly did. Who leaves the door half open during something like that?” I know my cheeks are red, heat radiating to my ears.

“Ev, you are as red as a tomato right now.” Len is still laughing. She’s loving this.
