He strode up the walk to the porch and inserted the key he’d picked up today from Lydia.

Pushing the door open, he stepped inside, closed it behind him, placed his hands on his hips, and grinned as he looked around.

After getting the key, Vivian and Grayson followed him to the house today, and they both loved it. Then he went furniture shopping, which was being delivered when he returned from Helena. He had to return to Helena to pack his clothes and personal items. He didn’t care about the furniture since he’d had it for years, so he donated it.

He only hated selling his ranch and putting his men out of work. He hadn’t even told them yet that he was selling.

“You need to grow some balls and let them know,” he said as he walked over to the fireplace and stared into the empty grate.

What would they think of him doing that to them? They’d been working his ranch for over five years, and now he would have to tell them they didn’t have jobs. There were only four, but it was four men out of work now. With a heavy sigh, he turned and headed up the stairs.

As he walked through the bedrooms, he hoped to fill them one day with kids. He loved them and wanted as many as he could.

“Yeah, you’re not the one having them, so maybe you should leave that to the future Mrs. Haines,” he said with a chuckle.

He pulled his cellphone out of the back pocket of his jeans and called Addison, eager to hear her voice. He scrolled through the numbers and hit Send when he found hers.

“Hello?”

Damn! Her voice alone was enough to make him hard. He cleared his throat.

“Uh, Addison?”

“Yes, who is this?”

“Cody Haines, Vivian Beckett’s brother. We met—”

“I remember. It was just yesterday, Cody.”

He chuckled. “Yes, ma’am, but I’m sure you meet many new people.”

“Yes, but some stand out more than others,” she said.

“So, I stand out? Is that good or bad?”

Her laughter came over the phone.

“I haven’t figured that out yet.”

“I’ll try to behave myself then… for now.”

“All right.”

“Would you like to have dinner one evening?”

“Yes, but are you staying in the area? Because if you aren’t, I don’t see any reason to get to know each other.”

“I just bought a house in Clifton, so I’m sticking around.”

“Well, I would love to have dinner one evening.”

“Great. I have to go to Helena tomorrow to get things packed up. I’m not sure how long I’ll be there, but if it’s all right with you, I’ll call you when I get back.”

“That’s fine. I look forward to it, Cody.”

“Not as much as I do. I can promise you that.”

“We’ll see.”
