“Should I wear a bell?”

“You do that again, and I’ll put a bell where no one would hear it.”

He chuckled. “Noted. How are things going?”

“Good. I’m almost finished. What about you?”

“I’m about done in the office. It felt warm, but the thermostats on seventy.”

“Well, working will make it seem warmer. I would love to jump into that pool. It’s warm enough outside.”

“Feel free, darlin’.”

“I didn’t bring a suit.”

“So?”

Her eyes narrowed, and he glanced away, then looked at her and shrugged.

“Men,” she muttered, making him laugh.

“Guilty. Seriously, anytime you want to go swimming, you’re welcome here.”

“Thank you. I might take you up on that.”

“The pool is heated, so we could swim anytime.”

“I’d love to get in it when it’s snowing. I bet that’s something to experience.”

“It’s just the getting in and getting out parts that make me think otherwise.”

A few hours later, they finished unpacking, they sat on the sofa in the living room, watching TV. Cody frowned when someone rang the doorbell. He looked at Addison.

“I have no idea who that could be. I’ll be right back.” He stood, walked to the back door, and opened it to see Lind and Rhoda there.

“Hey, you two. Come in out of the heat.” He opened the door wider.

“This is a great place, Cody,” Lind said.

“It’s gorgeous,” Rhoda added.

“Let’s go to the living room. Did you have any trouble finding the place?”

“No. GPS brought us right here.”

They entered the living room, and Cody saw Addison standing.

“Addison, this is my ranch manager from Helena, Lind Faulkner, and his wife, Rhoda. Lind, Rhoda, this is Addison Weaver.”

“It’s nice to meet you, ma’am,” Lind said as he shook her hand, and Rhoda smiled at her.

“You too.” Addison smiled.

Cody knew Lind and Rhoda had to be wondering who Addison was, especially when Lind looked at him and raised an eyebrow.

“We’re taking a break. We’ve been working for hours unpacking. Would you like something to drink?” Cody asked.

“No, thanks. I just wanted to let you know we made it. We’ve checked into the Clifton Bed and Breakfast. We’ll look around the town tomorrow.”
