“I love it already. It seems so quaint.” Rhoda smiled.

“Oh, it is. Are you moving here?” Addison asked them.

“We’re not sure yet. I’ve worked for Cody for five years, but since he’s selling that ranch to move here, we’ll see if a move would work for us.” Lind smiled.

“He’s a great manager, and I’d hate to lose him, but asking someone to up and move is tough. Though, I hope he will.”

“I’ll have to see what the boss says.” Lind grinned as he touched Rhoda’s hair.

Cody grinned. “I get that. When you head back to town, stop in the Clifton Diner and get a burger. That just might convince you to stay.”

“That good?”

“Yes. I had one earlier, and I already want another.”

Lind and Rhoda laughed.

“Looks like we need to go to dinner, hon,” Rhoda said.

“We’ll do that. Cody, I just wanted to let you know we arrived. We’re staying a week, so that should give us some time.” Lind smiled.

“Rhoda? You’ll love the shops around town,” Addison said.

“I can’t wait to go in them. I saw a few I’m interested in seeing.”

“We’ll let you get back to your movie. I’ll talk to you in a few days, Cody.” Lind looked at Addison. “It was nice meeting you.”

“You too.” Addison smiled.

“I’ll walk you out.” Cody led them back to the kitchen.

“This house is so beautiful, Cody. I can see why you love it here,” Rhoda said.

“I’m sure you would too, but I won’t pressure you. We’ll talk soon.” Cody opened the door for them and stepped onto the porch.

They walked down the steps, entered their vehicle, and drove off. He hoped they stayed. Lind was too good of a manager to lose.

He returned to the living room and sat beside Addison on the sofa. She smiled at him and then looked at the TV.

She was beautiful with her porcelain skin, blue eyes, and blonde hair. Her hair was in a ponytail, and he hoped she’d wear it down. He tugged on it, and she looked at him.

“Do you ever wear your hair down?”

“Of course. It’s too hot today, though. If I leave it down in hot weather, my neck gets wet and sweaty.”

Cody grinned. “Since we don’t know each other well enough, I won’t make a comment.”

“About what?”

He shook his head and chuckled when she sat up and glared at him.

“About what?” she repeated.

“Wet and sweaty.” When she gasped, he laughed. “I told you I didn’t want to say anything.”

“Men. Is sex all you think about?”

“Well, apparently, you knew what I meant, so don’t say it’s just men.”
