“You’re a little paranoid,” she muttered, but that man gave her the heebie-jeebies.

When she didn’t see anyone behind her, she let out a sigh of relief. She pulled into her driveway, parked, and then went inside the house. She hung her purse on a peg by the door and grinned when Lolli ran into the kitchen. Addison squatted.

“Hi, baby girl. Were you good today? Of course, you were.” She straightened, fed her, and got fresh water for her then she headed to her bedroom to change clothes.

She was entering the living room when a knock sounded on her door. She hesitated as she stared at the door. Walking to it slowly, she peered out the sheer curtains on the sidelight beside the door and sighed when she saw her grandmother. She opened the door and waved her inside then hugged her.

“Nana, I wasn’t expecting you.”

“I can’t stop and see my favorite granddaughter?” Naomi Weaver asked her.

“I’m your only granddaughter.” Addison grinned.

“Neither here nor there. You are my favorite. Did you just get home?”

“Yes, we were so busy today. Would you like something to drink?”

“Coffee, please.”

“Sure. Have a seat.”

“Hey, little Lollipop.”

Addison smiled as she listened to her talk to the dog. The woman was such a dog lover, and she was sure that’s where she got her love for them. After making the coffee, she carried the cup to her grandmother.

“Here you go, Nana.”

She took a seat beside her on the sofa.

“What’s going on with you lately?” Her grandmother raised an eyebrow.

“Why?” Addison frowned.

“No reason. A friend told me you were talking to a good-looking man. I was just wondering who he was and what’s he to you?”

“You are worse than my mother.” Addison shook her head.

Naomi laughed. “Someone has to ask about your love life.”

“Love life? What’s that?”

“Quit stalling. Who is he?”

Addison explained about meeting Cody and spending time with him, leaving the sex out, of course.

“He said he’d love to meet you. He was very impressed with the bug.”

“I’d love to meet him too. You need a man in your life, Addie. Stuart’s been gone a long time now.”

“I know, Nana. I’m just scared, but I do like Cody.”

“Good. I hope something good comes from it.”

As they sat talking, Addison’s mind still kept going back to the man watching her. Maybe she was paranoid, but she didn’t think so. He’d been watching her intently and it made her damned uncomfortable. She hoped he was just a tourist and would be leaving soon. She knew if she saw him again, she would panic. Why would he be watching her?

After her grandmother left, she watched a little TV, then went to bed but every time she closed her eyes, that man appeared, and she had a restless night.
