“Sebastian?” I heard Maggie say softly from the other room. Grateful to hear her voice attached to her body and not my own, I walked into the other room and slipped into bed beside her.

“Yeah, Freckles?”

“Rub my back. I have a long day ahead of me.”

I gladly slid my hands over her back. I was just grateful that I wasn’t in her body anymore. I thought back on my dream, shaking my head in disbelief. It all felt so real. And now I was even more aware of just how bad it was to be pregnant. This had to be the last time, if only to spare her the pain and suffering I felt in just one day.

She started to drift off, so I slipped out of bed and quickly showered. I felt renewed, like a new man as I washed myself. I jerked off, just to remind myself I could, and when I came on the wall, I rubbed my semen around with a grin.

“It’s good to be back,” I laughed. “Fuck, was any of that real?” I muttered to myself. It couldn’t be. If it was, I wouldn’t be back in my body. Chuckling to myself, I shut off the water as I tried to push the worst day ever from my mind.

After toweling off, I pulled on my work clothes and headed downstairs for some breakfast to start this day off right. I would never be so flippant about Maggie’s responsibilities around the house again. I would unload the dishwasher more and help out with the kids in the mornings instead of leaving it all to her.

I glanced at the clock and realized I could still get a workout in if I left now. Then I thought of Maggie sleeping upstairs in bed and all the kids that weren’t up yet. My hand ran across my stomach and I shrugged. I’d make sure to help her tomorrow.

With a little extra pep in my step, I headed out the door and over to Reed Security. A light workout was all I really needed to get my day started. Upon entering the training center, I was surprised to see I wasn’t the only one who was up early today for a workout. Sinner, Hunter, and Rocco were all here, talking quietly across the room. When Sinner spotted me, he stopped talking, his eyes dropping to my stomach as I walked over.

“Guys,” I said, wariness in my tone.

“Oh, thank God, you sound like you,” Sinner exhaled a long breath. Then he was walking up to me, wrapping his arms around me. “You’re you.”

“Of course I’m me. Who else would I be?”

“Maggie,” he said, as if my question was stupid.

I stiffened and pulled away from him. “What are you talking about?” I looked at all three of them, each looking more uncomfortable than the last. It couldn’t be. There was no way they had the same dream as me.

Hunter’s arms were crossed over his chest, and as he stared at me, he scrubbed one hand over his face, shaking his head slightly. “It’s just…it was so real.”

“No,” I whispered. “You dreamt it too?”

His eyes widened. “You were Maggie, but you were you. And I was Lucy, but still me. And every minute that passed, I was slowly losing myself.”

“And we went to Ryan and Lola’s,” I added, my eyes widening in shock. I winced as I looked at Rocco. “And you came to the house?—”

“When you went into labor,” Rocco finished with a nod.

I shook my head, completely baffled. But then anger took over and I launched myself at him. “You left her, you son of a bitch!” I grabbed him by the shirt and slammed my fist into his face. “How could you do that?”

“It wasn’t real!” he argued, tearing my hands from his shirt. “None of it was real. It was a dream!”

Sinner and Hunter were yanking me off him, struggling to hold me back. My cheek was flinching uncontrollably as I stared at him. “You left my wife.”

“It was you,” he argued. “If you want to talk semantics here. You were her.”

“Yes, and she was me!” I slammed my fist into my chest. “You left my wife in her hour of need.”

“Alright, let’s just back up for a minute here,” Sinner said, holding out his hands placatingly. “Let’s remember that none of this actually happened.”

Hunter scoffed. “It felt so real. How the hell do we go back to the way things were after all we’ve seen and done?”

I rolled my eyes at him. “Would you relax? It’s not like we were at war. We just…had a glimpse into the other side. So, now we treat our wives better, knowing what we know.”

Hunter nodded, glancing at the other two, who also nodded. “But we don’t ever talk about this. Never,” he said, narrowing his eyes. “This is the last time we ever speak of what happened,” he said, his voice cracking at the end.

“Agreed. Now…let’s just get a workout in. I’m sure after lifting some weights, we’ll all feel better.”

They all agreed and we went our separate ways, none of us wanting to be too close to the other. After my workout, I went to the locker room and showered again, pulling out fresh clothes from my locker. By the time I finished, the other guys were filtering into Reed Security, ready to start the day. For some reason, all the guys had the kids this morning. Maybe the women were on strike. They all brought them down the hall to the kids' training area and disappeared through the doors.
