Chills rippled up her flesh, and she bucked against the floor as his words caused her to spill over the edge again. Her body exploded around his shaft, gripping him tightly as she cried out in rhythm with the pulses of her orgasm.

He was moving faster now—deeper, harder.

Every hardened muscle in his body was tensing with every deep thrust, and the grunts in his throat were the hottest sound she’d ever heard.

Oh, she loved this. “Kru,” she said, breathless.

“Tell me what you want.”

“Kru!”

“Tell me,” he ground out, slamming into her.

“I want you!” she yelled as her body shattered again. “Fuck!” she screamed, arching her back against the floor to meet him.

Three harsh thrusts and he ground out her name and paused deep inside her. Warmth coated her insides in streams of fire as her body gripped him.

She lost her damn mind. She had no idea what she was saying or what she was chanting—it was nonsensical, desperate words, pleading for the very thing he was already giving her.

The motion of his body against hers was everything. As long as she lived, she would never forget this feeling.

It was this raw vulnerability where she could be exactly who she wanted to be, and he would like it.

It was feeling whole for the first time in her entire life.

It was stumbling upon something she hadn’t realized she was so desperately missing.

He slowed and dragged every throbbing ounce of pressure and pleasure from both of their bodies.

Sated and drained, she went limp as he rolled over, taking her with him until she was laying sprawled on his chest. He bent one leg up and hugged her tightly. He was still inside of her, and as quiet minutes ticked by, he didn’t seem ready to let go. She loved that, because she wasn’t ready either.

Tonight would change her life. She didn’t know exactly in what ways, but something inside of her said nothing would be the same anymore.

Cadence was glad.

His words rattled through his chest as he murmured them to her. “I’ll make you a deal.”

“What deal?” she asked. Never had she ever felt this relaxed or happy.

“Don’t make me question my place with you, and I won’t ever make you question yours.”

With a frown at his seriousness, she propped up and rested her elbows on his strong chest. “What do you mean?”

“I didn’t like the speed-dating. Felt like a game. I understand it. We were pretending to be friends, and you weren’t sure about me, but I don’t like games. They mess with my animal. Tell me what you want and what you need, and I’ll figure out if it’s something I can give. Will you do the same for me?”

“So your first request…”

“Say you’re mine,” he rasped out as he cupped the side of her neck.

“That’s a big ask,” she said softly.

His lips ticked up into a smile. “You have no idea how much that question cost me.”

And she understood. In an instant, like a lightning strike hitting her mind just right, she could understand. Of course he’d asked over and over for a past relationship to just settle and stop playing with him, and he had probably never gotten the right answers. He was asking her to do better by him.

She liked that he was direct.

“You want me to call you my boyfriend,” she said through a smile.
