I let out a whoop of pure elation and surged forward, capturing her lips in a searing kiss. We tumbled back onto the rug, laughing and crying all at once. I pulled her into my arms, burying my face in her fiery hair.

“I promise to love you fiercely and forever, to protect you always, and to cherish every moment we share. You're my mate, my partner, my everything.”

I slipped the ring onto her finger with shaking hands. Amber held out her hand, admiring it with an awed expression.

“It's stunning, Emmett. I love it. I love you.” Amber's eyes sparkled. “Can you believe we're engaged?”

I chuckled, pulling her closer. “Believe it, Wildflower. You're stuck with me now.”

“I can't wait to start our life together,” Amber murmured, tracing the contours of my face with her delicate fingers.

The talisman at her throat gleamed like a beacon, a symbol of our union. I felt an unbreakable connection to the land, to the portal we were sworn to protect, and most of all, to the incredible woman in my arms.

As we celebrated our engagement, the fire crackled around us, carrying a hint of magic that sent a shiver down my spine. A sense of peace settled over me.

Our love was as much a part of this land as the trees and rivers, as enduring as the mountains.

“What do you think our future will look like?” she asked.

I brushed a strand of her hair away from her face, my fingers tracing the line of her jaw as I imagined our future—lazy mornings tangled in the sheets, hikes through the forest, and cozy evenings curled up by the fire. “Adventurous, for sure.”

Her eyes sparked with excitement. “And when we're not roaming the wilds, we can spend lazy days cuddled up here, soaking in that outdoor tub under the stars.”

“Now that sounds like a dream,” I agreed, pulling her closer.

Amber's eyes misted. “I never thought I'd find a love like this, a place to truly belong. You've given me all that and more.”

I cupped her face, brushing away a stray tear with my thumb. “You'll never be alone again.”

She smiled. “I love you, Emmett Furbane. More than I ever thought possible.”

“I love you too, Amber Williams-soon-to-be-Furbane. Forever and always.” Trailing kisses along her jaw, I savored the thrill of her shiver. “And one day, we'll have cubs running around, driving us nuts.”

Laughing, she swatted my arm. “Easy there, fuzzy pants. One step at a time,” she teased.

The blush on her cheeks told me she wasn't opposed to the idea. She wound her arms around my neck, her lips brushing my ear. “I can't wait to have your cubs.”

My body responded instantly, the thought of our destined offspring igniting a primal need within me. “You know how to drive this bear wild, Wildflower.”

She smirked. “Always.”
