“Did you talk to Morgan?” Hailo asked while Sky rolled her eyes at the mention of him.

“He’s no help.” My fingers rimmed the glass as a distraction. A poor one, but I tried until I looked at Skylar nervously chewing on the inside of her cheek.

“What is it?” Sky leaned forward and picked up her glass, gulping the contents. “Skylar!”

“What?” she sighed.

“You know something, don’t you?” I asked.

She wanted to help me, but whatever she knew would betray Mack, so she was torn.

“Please, Sky. I won’t say anything, I swear. What is it?”

Her eyes floated around the room again. She was torn, but my puffy eyes wore her down, “I overheard Tyson on the phone with Mack. They took him.”

“Where?”

“I don’t know. I didn’t hear all that,” Sky explained.

My head fell into my hands, and Sky scooted closer while Hailo sat on the other side, rubbing my back.

“At least we know who has him. That’s a start,” Hailo reasoned.

“That’s no better than a stranger or enemy taking him.”

Nobody told me anything, so I was forced to snoop and pry. I’d overheard the heinous things my family had done. Things Quest didn’t deserve. Things that usually took place at the farm. My eyes ballooned, and I rushed to the door while Hailo and Sky followed me.

“Wait a minute. Where are you going?” Hailo asked, jumping in front of the door. Her question created a twisted expression on mine.

“To find Quest.”

“Then what, Sol?” Sky asked.

“What would you do if it were Mack?” I asked her before turning to Hailo, “Or Gianni?”

“I would call Mack,” Hailo replied.

Rolling my eyes, “Well, he’s the enemy right now, so I don’t have that luxury.”

“Maybe you should call Gianni first. If anyone understands, he does,” Sky suggested.

My hand fled to my hip, and I blinked a few times. “Reason with the person who kidnapped him in the first place. And I’m the naïve one around here.”

“Okay, Lo, it’s your turn,” Sky replied, tapping out.

“Solana, I get you’re worried, but let’s think this through. You don’t even know where he is.”

“I do, and it’s no telling what they’re doing to him. I’m not going to sit back and do nothing,” I yelled.

“I didn’t say do nothing. I said you need a plan before you run out of here like the pink ranger you’re not. You know who your family is. Demanding they give him back isn’t the answer, and you know it.”

Hailo was right, but the funny thing about emotions is that they make you forget all logic. I was tunnel-visioned on Quest, and that’s all that mattered.

“It is today,” Walking around Hailo, I yanked the door open so hard she had no choice but to move.

“Get her, Lo!” Sky fussed in the distance.

“And do what?” Hailo asked.
