“Bye, Squirt. I love you.”

Cam threw her hand up, skipping down the hallway while I stepped outside to converse with Marcus.

“What now?” He groaned.

“If you’re going to be a father, do it regardless of who you’re dating because Cam ain’t the thing to play with,” I warned.

“I’m not a father. I’m Camdyn’s father.”

“Like I said. Don’t play with her to win cool points with your lady.” I turned to head back inside because, as far as I was concerned, this conversation was over.

“Sky put that battery in your back, huh?” He chuckled, still missing the point.

“You fuckin’ idiot. I don’t need Sky to tell me shit about being a father.”

“A father to who? Camdyn has a daddy!” Marcus announced as if that hurt my feelings. We didn’t need matching genetic sequences for me to do whatever was necessary to give her the best life possible.

“Call yourself whatever you want, but don’t use my daughter to win points with your lady. That would piss me off, and trust me. You don’t want that problem.”

Shutting the door, I marched upstairs to ensure Cam kept her word, getting ready for bed.

Chapter Two

“Are you going to stare at me all morning?” Hailo asked, letting out a nervous chuckle.

“Nah,” I rolled on top of her, and she giggled, knowing where this was headed. “I have something else in mind.”

“Hmm, are you trying to keep me barefoot and pregnant?”

“You can wear shoes,” I smirked before kissing her neck, hoping to start my day inside of her.

“Uh uh! Move, Gianni!”

“Damn, you’re really going to do me like that?”

“I really am!” Hailo maintained, slithering from underneath my bare chest and hard dick. “I love you, but you’re not trapping me again.”

“Woah! Trap you? Again? That’s not what I remember.”

“Hmm, I bet you don’t, Gi.” Hailo rarely called me Gi. Only when she was trying to be funny, like right now.

“Nah, I just remember you sticking your tongue down my throat.”

“You loved every second of it that you had to come back for seconds and thirds. That’s how your son got here.”

“That’s crazy. What are you getting into today?”

“Parade business and lunch with your mom.” My lids blinked at Hailo’s plans for the day. “What?”

“Nothing,” I replied, climbing out of bed to start the day. They had come a long way from Lo dreading every family event to developing her own relationship with my parents. “I have to stop by the casino, then head to the office.”

“Sounds like you’ll be gone all day. Should I cook?”

“I’ll be home at a decent time.”

“Okay.”

Hailo and I maneuvered around each other, preparing to go our separate ways. After we were both dressed and ready, we went downstairs to find Sadie and the kids in the kitchen. She had a home of her own but spent so much time helping with the kids she might as well have moved in.
