Stretching up, Ashley pressed her lips to Dex’s and murmured, “We’ll be watching the game tomorrow. Just look at the camera and think about us, in your seats. In your corner. We’ll always be there.”
On a jagged breath, his eyes grew shiny. All that emotion that needed an outlet over the years was finally finding a safe place to express it.
How could she not love that? How could she not love him?
She kissed him again, savoring this moment. There would be more to come but this one she wanted to cherish. Together at last, hearts beating as one, souls connected, when all seemed right with the world.
“Look after my family for me, Ash.”
He didn’t need to explain. Willa, Ashley, and Ruby would be waiting for him. On cue, Bandit barked to remind everyone he was part of the Dex crew as well.
“I’ll keep everyone safe. Until you come back to us.”
