Spencenoted the anger inDave’sexpression, his darkened brown eyes similar toKim’s. “Whenhe doesn't get his way, the egotistical brat pitches a fit.Blowhard.Notused to getting rejected.Sleazydouchebag.”

Davenodded with a tight smile. “Beer?”

“DoIneed to describe what’ll happen if you hurt her?”Dave’stone was light, but his eyes belied his intent.

Spenceheld up his hand. “Igot you.Kim’svery special to me—I’lltreat her with respect.”

Daveseemed satisfied. “You’regood for her.Iam glad you’re helpingKimget involved in campus life because she’s prone to shutting herself off in her dorm.”

“DidKimtell you she’s the team’s unofficial scorer?Theguys look forward to her post-game analysis; some even call her ‘coach.’”Spencelifted two drinks from the bar asDavegave his card to the bartender to swipe.

Davedidn't bother hiding his smirk. “Don’tunderestimate her baseball knowledge.Hockey, either.”
