Within seconds, he received a simple thumbs-up response and shoved the phone back into his pocket.

Part of him wished Rocco’s behavior would get out of hand, just once. If he ever did, even just enough to make someone complain, Callum had no issue with taking out the trash.

Unfortunately, his behavior had always been acceptable at Callum’s parties. It was a pity because he was more than happy to do the honor of throwing him out, should it ever come to that.

As Callum made his way to the center of the party, where a tall fountain spurted water, a strange sensation coursed through his entire body. His wolf went on high alert, causing him to freeze.

He had never felt anything like this before and wasn’t sure how to react. He inhaled sharply. Instinctively, his body turned toward the main entrance. One thing all shifters knew was to listen when their animal spoke to them. So, Callum obeyed and let his wolf lead him.

It felt as if a magnet was tugging him, growing stronger the closer he got. He was unable to resist it.

He suddenly realized what it was that was leading him.

His mind raced. It shouldn’t be possible, though. Everyone here is wearing hunter’s block to hide their scents. This thought worried him because it was one of the few rules they had.

All attendees had to wear it in order to mask what kind of shifter they were or who they’d been with, but most importantly, to hide activating the mating bond.

Callum’s brow furrowed in confusion as he turned the corner. His eyes locked on a woman he had never seen. She was tall and toned, and her round face held perfect pouty lips. She was the most beautiful woman he had ever laid eyes on.

“No, it can’t be …” he trailed off as their eyes locked for a second before one of her friends took her attention.

Her hazel eyes scorched him to his soul, making him unable to doubt his wolf a second more. This woman was born to be his. Callum had found his mate.

FIONA

“Do you really think this is a good idea?” whimpered a nervous Chloe.

Fiona turned in the passenger seat and gave her timid friend a reassuring look. “It will be fine. Like we said, it’s not about anything but sex.” She was teasing, but if truth be told, Fiona was just as nervous as Chloe.

Alexis’s face was bright with excitement as she tapped the steering wheel. “I don’t know about you, but I’m in need of a sex party, or whatever this is. I want to get laid. I’m not going to complain if a hot shifter wants to rip my clothes off.”

“Same!” Lillian called from the seat behind Alexis. Both women started to bounce together in anticipation.

“And I doubt it’s mandatory,” Fiona said.

“What’s not mandatory?” Lillian asked.

“The sex. I know you two are all for it, but I’m just saying we don’t have to feel obligated.” Fiona spoke out loud to reassure herself more than her friends.

Alexis glanced at the GPS and made a left. “Yeah, but if opportunity knocks, I’ll gladly open the door.”

Fiona was curious, but caution spoke as well.

Apparently, the same went for Chloe. “Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad I’m here. I wouldn’t let you guys go without me. I want to see it firsthand, too, but it’s just not my thing. I’ll be playing the role of fly on the wall.”

Chloe giggled nervously. “What about you, Fi?”

Fiona shrugged. “We’ll see what happens. If I feel game. But we do need to make a plan so everyone’s comfortable and knows what’s going on.”

“How about if anyone texts that they want to go, then we’ll go? If not, we assume we are crashing there until morning, and then we’ll leave together.”

“We’re crashing there?” Chloe asked.

Fiona gave her a look.

“Oh, right.”
